I snatched the ultrasound report from his hands, tore it to pieces, and
tossed it into the air.
As the paper fluttered down, Caden’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He fought to control his anger.
“So that’s why you’re so confident. Guess you’ve got something to rely
on now.
He snorted.
“Luna, stop with that filthy idea of marriage out of pregnancy. If you behave, maybe I’ll let you keep the child-”
Before he could finish, I slapped him.
“Caden, you really think so highly of yourself, don’t you?
“Don’t worry. Thanks to you, the baby was gone the day we were at the hospital”
The anger in Caden’s eyes instantly faded, and his voice turned hoarse. “Gone?
“What do you mean?”
While he was still in shock, Cheryl suddenly appeared out of nowhere, her eyes glistening with tears.
“Luna, please don’t be mad at Mr. Parrish. It’s all my fault!”

She began to get on her knees.
Seeing this, Caden’s rage flared.
“Cheryl, why are you begging her? A scheming woman like her ist probably up to something again!”
Unlike Caden, who was oblivious to real struggles, Cheryl had truly climbed her way up from the bottom.
She knew better than anyone who the real pillar of the Parrish family
was.
In the past, she had flaunted her power, taking advantage of my affection for Caden.
But now that I’d truly let him go, it was her who panicked first.
Caden, however, wasn’t as quick to catch on. His eyes were full of pity
as he looked at her.
“Cheryl, don’t worry. Whether the baby’s really gone or not, you’re the only one in my heart!
“A woman like her–if it weren’t for this marriage holding me to her, I’d have dumped her long ago!”
Cheryl was about to say something but was pulled away by Caden.
Before turning around, he said harshly, “Luna, even if you beg me in the future, I’ll never forgive you!”
I ignored him and focused on preparing for my trip abroad.

While packing, my mom called via video.

As I sneered, I saw Caden awkwardly approach my parents.

“Do you remember me? I’m the spokesperson for the mobile game you invested in!”
My dad’s voice was completely flat. “So you’re that nobody influencer,
huh?
“No wonder that project lost so much money.
“And by the way, we’re not close, so call me Mr. Wilson.”
My dad’s skill at delivering a slap in the face was top–notch. I couldn’t help but shake with laughter as I held my phone.
Cheryl almost couldn’t hold her composure, but luckily, she was
flexible.
“Carlos, don’t be so distant,” she said, pushing Caden forward. “Mr. Parrish is still your son–in–law, so we’re practically family!”
My dad was so enraged he laughed.
“Family, huh? The kind that caused my daughter to miscarry?”
Caden’s face turned red, then pale.
He caught a glimpse of my mom holding up her phone and quickly stepped forward, snatching it away.
His face was full of rage as he looked into the camera.
“I knew it was you, Luna!
“You’re enjoying my humiliation, aren’t you?
“You make me sick!”
