Chapter 8
I flipped the diary open and saw some words on the inside cover.
“I will marry Cecelia!”
It looked like the handwriting of a child, so I was confused.
But when I saw the name at the corner, I understood.
It was Tristan’s diary.
He was there for me when I learned the truth about Darrell falling off the building.
I thought Tristan had a crush on me for at most a few years, but it turned out that his feelings for me began when he was so young.
With nervousness and satisfaction, I flipped to the first page.

“I met her at today’s dinner party. She’s the daughter of Dad’s friend. She’s cute. But why didn’t she even look at me? Why was she playing with Darrell the whole time?”
July 10, 2001
“She’s in the same school as me. I’m happy that I’ll be able to see her frequently. If only she set her eyes on me more often.”
June 2, 2003
“It was Children’s Day yesterday. She gifted Darrell a limited–edition dog toy and didn’t gift me anything Why? I’m also a child. I even prepared a

gift for her. Unbelievable!”

“They got together. I’m sad. I should’ve been braver. I’ll go abroad soon.”
January 1, 2011
“Darrell said he is bored of Cecelia. It’s ridiculous. She’s a good girl. How could he play with her feelings?”

- 2.
“Darrell faked death and is going traveling with his new girlfriend. Poor Cecelia. She is still kept in the dark. But it’s OK. I’ll tell her the truth and be there for her. Don’t blame me, Darrell. You cheated on her…

“I finally got her. My love isn’t unrequited anymore.”
The more I read, the faster my heartbeat was.
The diary was all about Tristan’s affection for me.
It turned out that Tristan had loved me secretly for such a long time.
After I read the last word, I closed the diary, wanting more of it. When I looked up, I found Tristan standing in front of me with a blush..
“You…you read all that?”
He was too shy to look up at me.
I was grateful for his love, but I had an urge to tease him.
“Read what? Your unrequited feelings?”
As expected, Tristan darted to me right away.
“Babe, give me the diary back!”
I raised it on purpose. Suddenly, Tristan tripped and fell, but I got him.
He stared at me without blinking. In his brown eyes, I could see myself clearly.
I pecked him on the cheek.
“Silly.”
Tristan chuckled, buried his face in my neck, and sniffed me greedily.
“Silly people are lucky.”
“How?”
“I’m lucky to be with you.”
He planted a smacker on my cheek, got up, and took the diary away.
“So you kissed me to distract me and take the diary away?”
I got up too, caught up with him with a smile, and wrapped my arms around his waist.
I was enveloped in his scent again. I dropped my eyes on his lips and was about to kiss him when the door was opened.
Dylan got in with a bear toy. Seeing us up against each other, he realized something and placed the toy over his eyes.
“I didn’t see anything.”
He was so cute, so Tristan and I burst out laughing
Chater
I gathered Dylan in my arms and gave him a smacker on the cheek.
Tristan tapped his forehead.
“You clever little thing!”
I looked through the window at the dim street lights. With my family
around, I felt contented.
The end.
