“Hey, Britney.” Bianca sounded surprised, like she just saw
Britney.
Then I realized Britney had already quit Royarch Capital, so that way of addressing her wasn’t right, and I changed it.
“Sorry, I got used to calling you Britney and forgot you already
quit.”
Her eyes were darting around the room too, obviously here to watch her make a fool of herself.
Maybe, they just came to watch her for fun.
So she purposely said the wrong room number to get Rodrick to come over and catch her “hiring a male escort.”
That was really thoughtful.
“Did we… disturb Ms. Harrington?” Bianca sounded pretty apologetic, but her expression clearly gave her away.
Rodrick didn’t say anything and kept some distance from
Britney.

His eyes were deep, the color of his pupils was pitch–black, just
like ink.
His thin lips were pressed into a straight line, the lower half of
his face was even more tense, and he was wrapped in an intense
coldness.
The atmosphere was so tense, even Edward forgot to keep
mocking Britney.
Estela was quick–witted. She saw something was off and
wanted to help Britney explain.
Britney spoke first, her mood so calm there wasn’t a hint of
emotion.
She asked the male escort on the left, who looked a bit like
Rodrick, “How much did you charge for staying overnight?”
The male escort thought she was going to pick him, so he
immediately acted professional, “3888. If it’s you, sis, I can give
you a discount.”
Britney smiled and quietly pulled her arm back from the male
escort. “Too expensive. You just look like Mr. Livingston, you’re
not the real one.”
She glanced absentmindedly at the man at the door, met his

eyes for two seconds without being humble or arrogant, then
said word by word, “Besides, I never pay to sleep with the real
deal. It’s always been for free.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the whole room fell into a
deathly silence.
Britney just left after saying goodbye to Estela in that kind of
silence.
Didn’t Edward always mock her for being slept with for free?
She just wanted to let him know who really got slept with for
nothing!
After Britney left, Rodrick’s deep eyes were half–closed, and his
whole vibe gave off a chill.
Edward shivered and called out, “Rodrick…”
“What did you mess with her for?” Rodrick said with a dark
look and then left.
“Rod.” Bianca didn’t look too good either, but she still went after him, “Mr. Thornecroft waited for quite a while. I told him you were coming, so he just kept waiting.”
She was worried Rodrick wouldn’t go with her to see Mr.

Luckily, Rodrick wasn’t influenced by Britney and still went
with her to see Mr. Thornecroft.

After Britney and Estela met, they checked out Synterra
Group’s business situation the next day.
There really was a problem!
Several old projects had already been delisted, but they were
still providing profit data.
Blatant fakery!
It was normal for capital companies to have some padding, but
all that was done in private.
But if it already came out in the open, that meant the company
was pretty much out of money.
Britney could only give up Synterra Group.
But Byron from Synterra Group actually called Britney and
asked her when she would come to the company.
Britney just made up an excuse and got away with it.

Byron obviously had an ulterior motive. He didn’t really care
whether Britney went to Synterra Group or not. Instead, he
hinted around and asked about Royarch Capital.
