Britney felt healed every time she ate Rhonda’s cooking.
Rhonda cooked every time based on Britney’s mood.
If she was just normally sad, then she made three dishes and a
soup.
If it was a bit heavier, there would be five dishes and a soup.
If she was really upset, Rhonda just wanted to make her a full
Manchu–Han feast.
Just like tonight.
She had just gotten off the plane too, after running around
abroad for two months straight. It was exactly when she needed
a break, but she kept busy in the kitchen making good food for
Britney.
“Baby, that’s enough, stop, I can’t eat that much!” Britney
couldn’t bear to see her work so hard and stopped her in time.
Rhonda looked at Britney’s face and made sure she wasn’t as
upset as before, then washed her hands and came over to eat
with her.

“Drink something?” Britney asked her.
They used to have a few drinks together, too.
But this time Rhonda clearly refused, “Your stomach isn’t good,
and you’re weak. Don’t drink if you can help it. Have more soup,
it’s good for your stomach.”
Britney couldn’t say no, so she just drank the soup.
To be honest, alcohol was addictive, but it hurt the body.
Just like Rodrick.
So Britney gave up drinking and chose to have soup.
At night, Rhonda and Britney squeezed onto one bed to sleep,
and they chatted on and off.
With Rhonda around, Britney actually got a good night’s sleep.
A dreamless night.
Britney had just finished breakfast in the morning when she got
a call from Voyager Investments HR telling her to come in for
an interview.
A really good start.

Even though Voyager Investments wasn’t as big as Royarch Capital, it still had its own place in its niche.
Rhonda showed her solid skills and helped Britney get ready herself.
“See? This was your real beauty!”
Rhonda didn’t forget to make fun of Britney’s old outfits, “Those old nun–like suits you used to wear, I’m gonna throw them all
out! Not leaving a single one!”
“Don’t, those were bought with real money too.” Britney felt a bit pained.
“Ugly clothes should’ve been thrown in the trash with those jerk guys!”
“…Okay!”
She could accept it like this.
Rhonda looked at Britney in front of her and felt even more satisfied. “Bree, why did you use to make yourself look ugly on purpose?”
She still hadn’t figured this out.
Britney avoided eye contact and mumbled.

Britney arrived at Voyager Investments at ten, and the HR of
Voyager Investments greeted her in person.
I asked some professional questions and was very satisfied with
Britney’s answers and performance.
“Could you please wait here for a moment? I’ll take your resume
to Mr. Thornecroft.” The HR person said to Britney with a big
smile.
Britney said okay.
