“So, what was Mr. Livingston’s evaluation of me for the past.
seven years? I was pretty curious about it.”
Britney repeated it loud and clear.
Bianca also wanted to know the answer.
After all, this comment was about Britney’s place in Rodrick’s
mind.
A storm flashed in Rodrick’s eyes for a second, then everything
went quiet again.
The tone was as emotionless and cold as ever, “My comment is,
as a secretary, not bad, but for projects, heh…”
That light, indifferent heh was enough to show his attitude.

She traded seven years of her youth for just this one offhand

Britney’s face turned pale, and her heart, which she thought
would never feel anything again, still ached and felt sore
because of his contempt.
Luckily, her heart had been toughened for seven years, so she
could barely stay calm. “Looks like I really failed, but still,
thanks for Mr. Livingston’s comment.”
After she finished speaking, she pulled her gaze back without
hesitation, looked at Silvan apologetically, and said, “Looks like
Mr. Thornecroft was right to turn down my job application.
Sorry for the trouble. Goodbye.”
Rodrick just stood there, watching her walk to the elevator,
watching her slowly disappear from sight.
Until the elevator doors closed, Bianca finally felt at ease.
Turns out I was just overthinking it, Rodrick really didn’t care
about Britney.
Even when Britney was struggling this much, Rodrick still
didn’t go easy on her.
Bianca smiled and said, “Rod, let’s go too.”

Britney and Rhonda had a nice dinner.
She hid it well, didn’t show any emotion.
At that moment, she was really grateful for the self–control she’d built up over seven years in the business world, so she
could fake it perfectly and even Rhonda couldn’t tell anything was wrong.
No one knew that under the calm surface, that heart was
already full of wounds and bleeding.
Rhonda hadn’t even finished eating when her agent called and
said there was a job and she had to go out of town for an
audition that night.
Britney finished dinner early and I took her to the airport.
Rhonda was really reluctant to leave, “I was planning to spend some good time with you, but I didn’t expect work to come up again.”
“Work was important, and I was already fine.”
“Really?” Rhonda looked at her face carefully.
Britney smiled brightly, “Of course it was true, I got rid of the

jerk, cured my lovesickness, and even found a new job,
everything was great!”
Her disguise was pretty much perfect.
Rhonda didn’t notice anything, but she still felt uneasy inside.
“No matter what, Rodrick was your whole youth. It’s gonna hurt a lot to get over him.”

It was just that little bit off.
She just broke down.
Luckily, the airport announcement came on just in time, and
that shifted Rhonda’s attention.
“Hurry up, don’t miss your flight!”
In the end, Rhonda got on the plane under Britney’s urging, and
she looked back at Britney several times along the way.
Britney just stood there and smiled, waving at her.
Kept waving.
Until she couldn’t see anymore, Britney’s hand dropped heavily.

After seeing Rhonda off, Britney took a car back home from the
airport.
When there was just over a kilometer left in the drive, I ran into
a traffic jam because of an accident up ahead.
Britney just got off early, since it wasn’t far anyway, and she
planned to walk back.
