Instead, I suggested to her, “Britney, do you want to think about
raising money and doing your own project? I can wait for you!”
He paused, scratched his head, and said, “But we can’t wait too
long. After all, a lot of people in the studio depended on me to
make a living.”
Before, when Katheryn said it, Britney already felt tempted.
Now even Elias said so, she found it hard not to waver.
It was just that she still had contract stuff to deal with and
couldn’t give him a clear answer.
“I’ll think about it.” That was all Britney could say.
Elias was really happy, “Then I’ll wait for your good news.”
After they said goodbye, Britney was thinking about what Elias
said while waiting for the bus, and didn’t notice that Rodrick
and Bianca were right behind her.
Someone nearby sighed, “What a good–looking couple, the guy’s
handsome and the girl’s pretty, they really matched each other.”

“These two’s kid must’ve been really good–looking!”
Britney glanced back, then quickly looked away.
The car she called just arrived, and she got in without hesitation
and shut the door, shutting out the noise outside.
On the day of the party, Britney was busy at the hotel and didn’t
go to the office.
Katheryn came over in the afternoon to help. When she saw
Britney was still dressed like usual, she told her to hurry up and
change into her dress.
Who knew Britney said she forgot to order the dress.
She believed it when others said it, but when Britney said it,
Katheryn didn’t believe it.
She was the all–round, super careful secretary Britney–how
could she possibly forget?
Katheryn was about to say something, but Britney just calmly
told her what to do, showing no emotion.
All those comforting words, Katheryn swallowed back.
It was 5:30 in the afternoon, Rodrick still hadn’t arrived, but the guests were already showing up one after another.

Britney had to fill in for Rodrick to greet those guests. She was
so busy running around that her face almost froze from smiling.
5:50, Britney asked again, Where’s Katheryn Rodrick?
Katheryn looked really anxious too, “No idea, can’t get in touch
with Mr. Livingston.”
Britney paused for a moment and told Katheryn, “Call Ms.
Webster and ask.”
Katheryn did as told.
She soon got the answer from Bianca. After she hung up, she
looked at Britney with a complicated expression.
“How did Ms. Webster say?” Britney asked her.
Katheryn couldn’t hide it and just told the truth, “Mr. Livingston
and Ms. Webster were together, said Mr. Livingston was with
her… helping her alter her dress and it took a bit longer, they’re
on their way now, might be a few minutes late, asked you to
cover for them first”
By the end, Katheryn’s eyes were full of sympathy.
Britney reacted pretty calmly and said, “Got it, go ahead and do
your thing.”

The guests all came for Rodrick. When they didn’t see him, of
course they asked about him.
Britney could only handle them one at a time.
This dealing, I just had to drink and fake a smile.
She was busy at the hotel all day and barely ate anything. After
drinking this alcohol, her stomach started to feel uncomfortable
again.
Rodrick and Bianca got there at 6:10, ten minutes late.
Not a lot, but it was the time everyone looked forward to the
most.
So as soon as the two showed up, they immediately got
everyone’s attention.
Someone already started talking about it.
“Who was that pretty woman with Mr. Livingston? Why hadn’t
I seen her before?”
