Federico was the star of the party, busy socializing everywhere,
so he couldn’t come to the door to meet her himself.
Britney said no need, she would just go in herself when she got
there.
But she didn’t expect to run into Edward and Bianca at the
entrance of the party.
Edward came out just to pick up Bianca, and he didn’t expect to
run into Britney.
“Why were you everywhere?”
With no one else around, Edward didn’t hide his dislike for
Britney at all.
“Like a fly, you smelled it and just showed up?”
Edward used to make fun of Britney a lot, and Britney, for
Rodrick’s sake, didn’t really hold it against Edward.
But that was in the past.
She didn’t even show Rodrick any respect, so why would she

“I came because I smelled it, so shouldn’t you reflect on why you
smell like this?”
Edward choked a bit.
He didn’t expect Britney to fight back. He was stunned for a few
seconds, then got a bit angry and embarrassed. “Britney, what
are you so proud of? What right do you have to be proud?
Didn’t you say you were going to quit? Why are you still
shamelessly staying at Royarch Capital?”
“Being fake, who were you putting on a show for?”
“If you had time to mock me here, you might as well go talk to
Rodrick and tell him to approve my resignation already. Let’s
see who’s really shameless and won’t let me go!”
To deal with someone like Edward, whose mouth worked faster
than his brain, she didn’t even need to go all out.
Edward almost jumped.
At the crucial moment, Bianca showed up.
Edward almost changed his face in a second and immediately
went to open the door for Bianca with a fawning look, “Bianca,

you finally came! I’ve been waiting for you for ages!”
Stick a dog tail on him, he could wag it like a propeller.
Dog leg, made literal.
Bianca was still all dressed up, smiling as she talked to Edward,
“Got held up on the way.”
After she got out of the car, she saw Britney was there too and
was a bit surprised.
Thinking about how Federico and Britney had been hanging out a lot lately, I guessed Britney came here probably for those connections and resources at Gnome Bank.
Then she looked away, curled her red lips in disdain, and talked
to Edward.
Federico called and asked if Britney had arrived. She answered the call and then went in.
Bianca asked Federico, “How did she come? Gnome Bank
invited her?”
Edward scoffed, “No way! Who knows where she got that invite from. Britney’s super sly, probably just here for the resources.”
Bianca had already guessed that, and when she heard Edward

say it, she felt even more sure.
“Someone like her who climbed up from the bottom definitely
wouldn’t let any chance slip by, since if she missed it, she might
never get another one.”
Edward just got roasted by Britney and was in a bad mood. He
didn’t want to mention Britney. “Don’t talk about her, she’s like
a ghost, always haunting me. If I were Rodrick, I’d just fire her!”
“Rod was someone who kept work and personal life separate. If
Britney didn’t do anything wrong, he wouldn’t fire her.”
Edward was annoyed, “That’s true, Rodrick was just too upright,
that’s why he got played by someone scheming like Britney!”
“Alright, let’s not talk about her. Did Rico bring a date?” Bianca
was more interested in this.
