Rodrick had a pretty high status in the capital circle and was
one of the few rising financial stars in Riverton. Wherever he
went, he was always in demand.
Bianca got quite a bit of attention because of this.
When Britney came out of the bathroom, she heard someone
talking about Bianca’s identity.
“Who was that Ms. Webster with Rodrick? I saw Rodrick really
looking out for her, and their relationship didn’t seem ordinary.”
“You didn’t know yet? That was most likely the Livingston
family’s marriage partner, Theodore’s daughter.”
The other person probably knew Theodore and knew some
inside stuff. “Theodore did pretty well these past two years, but
there was still a big gap between him and the Livingston family,
right?”
Theodore had been working out of town for the past few years, and it was just over a year ago that he got transferred back to
Riverton.
And it was in a level tone.

In most people’s eyes, Theodore might have been in a high
position, but he still couldn’t even reach the threshold of a big
family.
“Rodrick actually went out of his way to help Theodore’s
daughter, introduced her to his connections, which just showed
one thing–he was serious about that Ms. Webster, not just
keeping her around for fun.”
“Looks like I had to hang out with Mr. Webster more from now
on.”
After all, with Rodrick backing them up, this the Webster
family was probably going to hit it big.
You had to suck up early to get a chance, if you waited, you
probably couldn’t even get in line.
A few people hurried off to suck up to Rodrick and Bianca, but
Britney just stood there, unable to snap out of it for a long time.
She thought of the conversation she heard outside the private
room that day.
Edward said.
“If you really liked it that much, you could just keep it after we
got married.”

So, she was just a little plaything Rodrick kept around for fun?
So, Rodrick just didn’t approve her resignation because he
wasn’t done having fun yet?
Just like Edward said, even if he got married to someone else, he
could still keep it.
Just like before, he came when she called and left when she
waved him away.
At that moment, her body felt like it was wrapped in ice, and
the cold just kept seeping through.
The past seven years were just like a joke.
“Britney! We met again!”
Estela showed up and pulled Britney out of her frozen world.
“Ms. Baird.”
“Why are your hands so cold?” Estela was startled by how icy
her hands felt.
“Maybe just came in from outside.” Britney just made up an
excuse.
Estela pulled her to a warmer spot to chat and asked her about

When I found out Britney still hadn’t managed to quit Royarch
Capital, I frowned. “What’s Rodrick trying to do? He’s not giving
you the treatment or position you deserve, and he won’t let you
go either. Isn’t that just too low?”
Britney didn’t want to talk about those upsetting things, and
instead talked to Estela about the AI project.
Estela got really interested when she heard it, and she talked
with Britney for a long time.
Britney had been following up on this project before, and she
was the person who knew it best besides Elias.
The analysis and evaluation in every aspect were very
professional.
Estela couldn’t help but ask her out of curiosity, “Did you study
computer science before?”
Britney shook her head and said no.
