Chapter 3
Hearing Skylar’s voice, Mark no longer cared about me. He stood up and threw out one final remark.
“Go pray in front of the photo. When you finally realize your mistake, then you can come out.”
He had his beta throw me into the dark room, the place where I was usually punished.
The wall separating us was the one that led to Mark’s bedroom
Skylar’s coquettish voice rang out.
“Mark, I wasn’t even hurt. Why are you so harsh on Haley?”
“She scared you. That’s entirely her fault. Besides, she’s tough as nails, so no matter how long she’s locked up, she’s fine.”
The rustle of clothes sounded as she spoke in a teasing tone.
“Mark, you’ve already sealed the mate bond with Haley. What we’re doing isn’t right.
Mark’s voice was filled with affection.

Their flirtatious voices pierced through the cracks in the door, each word like a dagger in my heart.
I stared at the moon outside the window, thinking about the Moon Goddess, I longed to know what I had done wrong to deserve such torment.
Mark had completely forgotten about my existence.
I spent three days locked in the dark room, while he and Skylar carried on together without a care.
The pieces of shattered porcelain in my wounds had still not been removed, nor had they been treated.
In the heat of summer, there was a faint, sickening stench.
By the time Mark finally remembered me, I was exhausted and starving, having fainted multiple times.
The door opened, and a maid immediately splashed a bucket of cold water on me.
“What’s that smell? It’s disgusting!”
Several of them grabbed me with looks of disgust, dragging me out.
“Do you really think becoming our Luna will help you climb the social ladder? Someone like Skylar, the daughter of an Alpha, is the only one worthy of our Alpha. She’s the one who deserves to be our Luna.”
They roughly shoved me into the fountain pool, spraying me with water.
Once they were done with me, they sent me straight to Mark.
Mark glanced at me with surprise.
“Guess you really are unyielding since you were locked up for three days and still fine. My father wants you to come with me to the pack gathering. Make sure you look decent, don’t embarrass me.
With that, he tossed me an evening gown carelessly and furrowed his brow In confusion
“Dad also mentioned something about an Important announcement. What could require such a big deal?”
I knew in my heart it was to break the mate bond, and he was agreeing to let me go.
Seeing a glimmer of hope in my expression, Mark quickly warned me.

Mark, however, frowned and shot me a glance before saving to Skylar,

At the dinner party, I sat alone in a corner, watching Skylar loop her arm through Mark’s as they weaved through the pack members.
Around me, people cast mocking looks, but I didn’t care.
After all, for the past seven years, I had become a joke to everyone as the “Luna.”
Now, all I could hope for was Alpha Frank finally letting me go.
Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared in my line of sight, and my heart tightened in panic
“Haley, how dare you still show up at the pack gathering!”
