Luna Susan’s sharp, cutting voice echoed in my ears, and the next moment, I felt a sharp pain in my waist.
She sneered, retracting her hand.
“I’ve scheduled your IVF appointment for this week. Why haven’t you gone?”
Having been locked in the dark room for three days, I hadn’t even been allowed to step out.
I was about to explain when another voice interrupted me.
She’s been too busy shopping for bags these past few days. She probably just forgot about it.”
Mark shot me a warning look, cutting off any chance I had to speak.
I felt a pang in my chest, realizing that he was afraid Luna Susan would take her anger out on Skylar.
But what about me?
Had he thought about how I’d feel after hearing that answer?
As expected, Luna Susan’s slap landed hard across my face after Mark’s reply.
Red finger marks quickly bloomed on my cheek.
pack made you Luna, fed you well and treated you nicely, yet you can’t even get pregnant and give us an heir. Now you’ve gone so far as to refuse the IVF treatments.”
She was enraged. In front of everyone, she slapped me again and again.
I collapsed to the ground, the world spinning around me.
Seeing me in such a pathetic state, Mark instinctively reached out, but after realizing his own actions, he withdrew with a frown. Skylar’s eyes flashed with jealousy, and she quickly bent down to help me up.
“Haley, go apologize to Luna Susan.”
As she spoke, her hand came down hard on the wound on my hand.
Her long nails dug into the still–healing injury, and I flinched in pain, instinctively pulling my hand away from her.
Skylar gasped, the back of her hand instantly turning bruised after hitting the table’s edge.
Mark’s face immediately darkened. He held Skylar’s hand, his eyes turning red with fury.
“Haley, you really have some guts, bullying Skylar right in front of me. Have I been too easy on you? Don’t push your luck. ”
The surrounding pack members and pack elders also looked at me with disdain.
“Typical omega, petty Skylar was just trying to help her, and she goes and attacks her!”
1 gritted my teeth, enduring the pain from the wound, and tried to explain, “I didn’t mean to hurt her
Mark’s anger turned into a mocking laugh.
“I saw it with my own eyes, and you still dare to argue?”
He grabbed my wrist tightly and yanked me in front of Skylar
“Apologize to her! Now!”
1 liited my head defiantly. “I didn’t do anything wrong. Why should I apologlar?”
Mark’s expression darkened, and he swered
“You became my Luna for money, didn’t you? And now you want to put on a ini? Too late
His gaze hardened, and he called for a wardor
“Everything you’ve worn and used these years, hasn’t it all been provided by the pack? If you won’t apologize, then you’ll return everything!”
I was so shocked I nearly collapsed, clenching my fists.
“Mark, are you even human?!”
A cruel smile spread across Mark’s face as he gave an order.
“No apology? Fine, drag her out, strip her down, and throw her out.”
“Let her come back only when she realizes her mistake!!
Hearing this, several warriors immediately dragged me outside. They actually began tearing at my gown by force in the freezing cold.
“Luna my ass. What’s the difference between you and a street prostitute?”
“You’re decent–looking though. Thanks to the Alpha, we get a good show,”
Laughter echoed around me, and I struggled desperately, feeling a wave of hopelessness crash over me.
Just as they ripped at the hem of my gown, a sharp shout echoed from the gate.
“What are you doing?!”
Alpha Frank’s furious gaze sent the warriors into immediate submission. They released me and muttered.
“It was the Alpha’s orders. We were just following them.”
Alpha Frank was livid. He helped me up, draping his coat over my shoulders.
“This beast, how could he do something like this? After everything you’ve done for him, how could he treat you like this?”
“Don’t worry. I will make sure you get justice”
I shook my head wearily, and the tears I had held back for so long finally fell.
“I don’t want anything. I just want to leave.”
Alpha Frank sighed, patting my hand,
“The bond–breaking deal… I’ve brought it,”
I wrapped the coat around myself and pushed open the door to the banquet hall.
When Mark saw me in such a sorry state, he sneered.
“Did you finally realize your mistake? Then apologize to Skylar.”
But the next moment, a slap landed heavily on his face.
“The one who should apologize is you!”
