Chapter 25
Lorena’s lackey quickly added fuel to the fire. “Please don’t cover for a cheater. Lately, both Lorena and Sadie have been
preparing for the family esports tournament. Lorena’s grades
took a hit–there’s no way Sadie improved that much!”
The second lackey chimed in, “Exactly! If we want fairness,
Sadie’s score should be disqualified.”
Lorena noticed the teacher hesitate. Clearly, her little speech
had worked.
Once again, she’d come out on top.
‘Sadie, how dare you try to outshine me again. Have you
forgotten what happens when you do?
“Sadie, don’t you have anything to say for yourself?”
Feeling the teacher’s skeptical stare, Sadie responded coolly, “I
didn’t cheat.”
Just several words–short and sharp. She didn’t bother to say
more.
In her previous life, every time Sadie’s grades edged past

Lorena’s, that woman would find a way to make her life.
miserable. It got to the point where Sadie didn’t even dare try to
outperform her.
Now, Lorena was up to her old tricks again.
Putting on her best concerned face, Lorena quickly added, “I
knew she wouldn’t cheat. Please don’t doubt her. If you cancel
her score, it might seem fair on the surface, but it would really
hurt her.”
The homeroom teacher thought for a moment before replying,
“Sadie’s rank will be temporarily invalid. I’ll investigate, and if it
turns out she did cheat, she’ll face the consequences.”
As soon as the teacher left, the classroom erupted into noisy
chatter.
One of Lorena’s lackeys snorted, “I knew it. No one jumps that
many ranks without doing something shady.“”
Lorena’s eyes sparkled with satisfaction as she pulled out her
phone and sent a message to Rhett: [Rhett, what should we do?
Sadie cheated on her exam just to win that bet with you. Now
she’s about to be punished. I’m so worried about her!]
Meanwhile, Sadie simply opened her textbook and went back to
reviewing.
Chapter 25
Whether her rank was canceled or not, she couldn’t care less.
Lorena might have the homeroom teacher wrapped around her
finger–but that had no effect on college entrance exam scores.
Still, a small part of her felt bitter.
She had made a promise with Sean: if she ranked in the top 100,
they’d play a game together.
But lately, she hadn’t seen him at the infirmary, and the
messages she’d sent had gone unanswered.
Sadie’s heart sank a little. Just when she thought she finally had
a real friend… maybe it was just wishful thinking.
When morning classes ended, a wave of excited squeals rang
out from the hallway.
Sadie looked up–Rhett had arrived.
‘What is he doing here?”
“Lorena, your brother is so handsome!”
Lorena smiled smugly and stepped forward to accept the little
cake Rhett handed her. “Rhett, Sadie’s in the classroom. Why
don’t you talk to her? If she just apologizes and admits she
copied, maybe she won’t get punished.“”
Chapter 25
Rhett glanced toward the classroom and spotted Sadie.
She never even looked up–just calmly kept reading her
textbook.
She didn’t need to guess why he was here. Lorena clearly
couldn’t wait to watch her crash and burn.
But Sadie didn’t care if her score got canceled.
What she wasn’t going to do was admit to something she didn’t
- do.
Standing in the doorway, Lorena called out sweetly, “Sadie,
Rhett is here. Don’t worry.”
Sadie acted like she hadn’t heard a thing and didn’t even glance.
his way.
Rhett’s face darkened. Whatever faint concern he’d felt for her
vanished in an instant. Why should he be worried about her
anyway?
His voice turned cold. “I’m going to speak with the teacher.”
And just like that, he turned and left.
Lorena, still holding the cake, strolled over to Sadie’s desk.
“Sadie, Rhett only brought one cake and gave it to me. He

probably just forgot. I’ll give you half later, okay?”
Sadie could see right through her.
Lorena was showing off, plain and simple. She always had.
