Chapter 7 Savannah’s Corpse
I made up my mind to destroy them before leaving this disgusting city. And then I would sever all ties with them forever.
Everything was supposed to go as planned, but I never expected Kaleb to leave the wedding. Besides, Alena didn’t even show up.
Since both leading roles were not there, what was the point?
I had no choice but to abort my plan and wait for another opportunity.
But I never expected to die that night, let alone witness their betrayal with my own eyes as a wandering soul.
I lost the game, utterly and completely.
How could a dead person ever fight against the living?
I couldn’t win Kaleb’s heart, nor could I avenge my child.
My relationship was a total failure.
Even after I died, Kaleb didn’t feel like finding out what had happened to
- me.
I followed him, watching as he continued his life as usual.
Had I wasted all those years of love on the wrong person?
I regretted it so much.
Why did I ever fall for him?!
That evening, the Brook family hosted a banquet.
Dressed in pink, Alena came up to him. Clinging to his arm, she said sweetly. “Kaleb.”
Given their current relationship, Kaleb instinctively pushed her away, feeling that it was inappropriate.
“Ally, be good. Savannah might get jealous if she sees this.”
My parents chuckled, smoothing things over. “Savannah was always petty, even jealous of her own little sister. Who knows what kind of filthy thoughts she had in mind?”
My brothers ruffled Alena’s hair dotingly. “That’s right. She could never be as pure, obedient, and lovely as our Ally.”
Hearing my parents and brothers praise Alena while stepping on me. I found it utterly ridiculous.
Since when could a woman who seduced her brother–in–law on her sister’s wedding night be called ‘pure and innocent“?
Unfortunately, they could no longer hear my voice, and all the evidence I had gathered before my death had vanished along with my phone.
Kaleb scanned the crowd and asked, “Where’s Savannah? Hasn’t she come back yet?”
So, he never asked because he merely assumed that I would simply go home.
Yet I never had a spot in the so–called home. My family never welcomed me, so how could I go home when I got hurt?
My mom looked annoyed. “Is she still sulking? I thought she had already
gone back to you.”
So, no one had paid any attention to me even after talking to the police.
How tragic! I had never done anything to harm them, yet they reacted to my death with such indillerence.
My eldest brother, recalling what the police officer had said, felt a sudden unease “Could Savannah really have killed herself? Maybe we should. check with the police again, see if there are any leads…”
Alena lowered her head and sobbed softly. “It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t. have called Kalch last night. I never meant to ruin her wedding. I didn’t think she’d throw a tantrum and disappear.”
At once, everyone gathered around to comfort her. They instantly forgot any concern they had just shown for me.
Kaleb frowned. For once, he didn’t join the others in cursing me.
After dinner, he unconsciously walked to my room, his expression dark and unreadable.
Looking at the unchanged decor inside, was he thinking about me?
Lighting a cigarette, he exhaled a puff before dialing his assistant.
“What’s the result? Have they found Savannah’s body?”
