Chapter 23
A five–star hotel, a certain private room.
Dylan looked eagerly at the door, holding a Bugatti car purchase contract in his hands.
The waiter opened the door, and two tall figures walked in.
Carolyn and Colin held hands, both dressed in understated shades of gray, exuding an aura of happiness.
After Carolyn sat down, she nodded gently towards Joe.
Dylan looked at Carolyn’s cold face, and his heart felt like it was being gripped by something, making it painful to breathe.
Since then, she would never laugh at herself again.
Dylan took out the transfer contract and then took out a handwritten page about Carolyn’s preferences. His voice hoarse, he said, “Carol, look, I really have changed for the better.”
“I sincerely and wholeheartedly ask you to reconcile with me, can you believe me this one last time?”
Carolyn glanced at the paper Dylan had handwritten, picked it up, and quickly tore it up. She looked at Dylan coldly and said, “This paper is now torn, can you restore it to its previous state?”
Dylan held onto his hands, trembling as he spoke, “Everyone makes mistakes, can’t you give me a chance to start over?”
“I didn’t want to give it to you, you didn’t deserve it.”

Carolyn spoke calmly, recalling what had happened a month ago. She said lightly, “Dylan, I truly loved you, but now I truly don’t love you anymore.
She appeared gentle on the outside, and her character was always easy to compromise.
Once a decision is made, it will not be changed.
Even if, in the event that she had not met Colin after leaving Dylan, she would still choose to live on her own.
Dylan’s face grew paler and paler as Carolyn continued, “I really hope that, considering the five years I took care of you, you won’t bother me anymore.”
“We really don’t need to see each other again.”
After saying that, Carolyn no longer looked at Dylan to see his expression. Her gaze fell on Joe, who had been silent all along.
“Sir Brassard, I have said what needs to be said. Colin will not engage in any further actions against the Brassard Group, and I kindly ask Sir Brassard to remember the promise he made to me.”
That day, Joe called her and asked her to come and meet Dylan.
She actually made two requests in total.
One is taking Colin to the past.
Another thing was that I hoped Joe would take care of Dylan and not let him bother me anymore.
Joe’s muddy eyes drooped slightly, with a hint of regret welling up in the depths of his eyes.
He lived for more than half of his life and had always been very accurate

in judging people.
If Carolyn married Dylan, and Dylan then secured the position as the heir, the Brassard Group would undoubtedly reach new heights.
Unfortunately, Dylan did not have this fate.
Joe took out a gift from his bag and handed it to Carolyn. “Carolyn, congratulations on your wedding. This is a little something from me.”
Carolyn looked at the gift in front of her, and a hint of red appeared in her
watery eyes.
During the eight years of being in a relationship with Dylan, Joe was one of the very few elders in the Brassard family, besides Sheryl, who genuinely approved of her.
Carolyn took the gift and said calmly, “Thank you, Sir Brassard. I’m sorry, but I have something to attend to, so I will take my leave.”
Joe nodded and, in the end, couldn’t help but let out a sigh.
Outside the compartment, Carolyn had not taken a few steps when Dylan walked out from the compartment.
He watched Carolyn’s figure and shouted loudly, “Carolyn, can we hug one last time?”
Carolyn frowned, about to coldly refuse.
In the corridor, a figure suddenly rushed out.
Alana saw Carolyn, her face twisted, and she took a big stride forward, fiercely splashing concentrated sulfuric acid onto Carolyn’s face.
Colin furrowed his brows in frustration, wanting to run over and shield Carolyn, but he had just been in the middle of communicating with the waiter about the bill and was standing at a distance.

Dylan, upon seeing the situation, took a big step and positioned his body in front of Carolyn.
The concentrated sulfuric acid was instantly poured onto Dylan’s back and head, rapidly corroding his skin.
The piercing pain struck, and even Dylan, who had always been able to endure, couldn’t help but scream.
Carolyn was stunned for a few seconds. She walked up to Alana and slapped her face, causing it to swell, “Alana! Are you crazy? How could you throw concentrated sulfuric acid at someone!”
If it weren’t for Dylan blocking her, it would be her who is disfigured.
