That night, a figure slipped past everyone in the Duke’s estate, silently entering Anthony’s room.
Standing by the bed, Tina fixed her gaze on Anthony lying there, her dagger pressing soundlessly against his neck.
The cold, razor–sharp blade barely touched Anthony’s skin, yet a thin line of blood appeared on his neck.
It seemed that if a little

Tina withdrew the dagger and pulled out a palm–sized spider, placing it on Anthony’s body.
The spider crawled over Anthony several times before finding its mark. It climbed onto Anthony’s neck and sank its fangs deep.
Anthony seemed to sense something even in his sleep. His body twitched slightly, but he soon fell into a heavy s
slumber.
Satisfied that her target was marked. Tina retrieved the spider and disappeared into the night without a trace.
Tina arrived outside Sophie’s courtyard in no time.
Tina sensed something amiss just as she was about to step inside. She quickly concealed herself.
A second later, a black–clad figure appeared in the spot she had just vacated.
The black–clad figure scanned the area cautiously but didn’t notice anything unusual. After a while, he returned to Sophie’s courtyard to continue his watch.
“Sophie has a shadow guard stationed in her courtyard? Is he one of the Duke’s estate shadow guards?” asked Eliza.
The next morning, Eliza woke up and heard Tina’s report.
Tin: shook her head. “No, The Duke estate’s newly trained shadow guards are far too weak. But the shadow guard’s skills last night were exceptional. His skill could never be cultivated in a short time.”
Fliza’s gaze sharpened. “How does he compare to you?”
Tina replied steadily. “We haven’t confronted each other head–on. Judging by his reactions, I’d say we’re evenly matched.”
‘He can evenly match Tina? thought Eliza. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise.
After all, Tina was one of the top ten shadow guards trained by the royal family, a rare talent among thousands.
Eliza had never encountered another shadow guard who could rival Tina since Tina had joined her.
Apparently, the person stationed by Sophie’s side in the Duke’s estate was no ordinary figure.
Either Gabriel had brought him in from outside, or Sophie’s backers had sent someone to protect her.
Eliza narrowed her eyes slightly, recalling the two individuals named Nonus Ophidian and Septimus Ophidian.
Could it be that one of those Opludian stakes had shown up? thought Eliza.
That
person is super alert and has been guarding Sophie’s courtyard the entire time. I couldn’t find a chance to act, Tina admitted, her lone tinged with disappointment. It was her first failure to carry out Eliza’s orders.
Then, a bowl of spaghetti was suddenly placed before Tina.
Tina looked up and saw Rente grinning as she set the bowl down.

“Tina, eat up! Holy Lady told me to make your favorite spaghetti this morning before she went to bed last night. I even added two eggs and a spoonful of meat sauce–just the way you like it!” said Renee cheerfully.
Eliza didn’t eat meat but never imposed her dietary choices on Renee and Tina.
Renee and Tina had tried to follow her vegetarian habits for a while, but they obediently returned to their usual diets after Eliza playfully knocked on their heads and told them to stick to their preferences.
Tina stared at the bowl of spaghetti, piled high and brimming with aroma, but said nothing.
Eliza took her bowl from Rence. Compared to Tina’s, hers was plain and simple.
However, Eliza didn’t mind at all. She picked up her fork and stirred her spaghetti lightly before turning to Tina. “Alright, eat up before it gets cold
Upon hearing that, Tina finally picked up her fork and ate.
Upon seeing her start eating, Eliza smiled and said, “You did well last night. Under those circumstances, it was smart not to push forward. Renee and I would’ve been so worried if you had gotten hurt.”
When chatting privately with Tina and Renee, Eliza was much more relaxed, dropping her usual formalities and refraining from referring to herself as the humble nun.
Only Eliza, Tina, and Renee were in the small courtyard. One who had renounced the world, one who had lost all her family, and one who had been alone since childhood.
They leaned on each other. Their bond grew deeper with time, built on mutual trust and sincerity.
They weren’t related by blood, but their connection was stronger than
that of
most families.
“Exactly! Holy Lady is right. So. Tina, stop overthinking and enjoy your meal. Try my cooking today and tell me if it’s good!” Renee chimed in enthusiastically.
Tina picked up a mouthful of spaghetti, slurping them up and savoring the rich, fragrant taste. After chewing and swallowing, she smiled. “Mmm, it’s delicious.”
The “Mmm” was directed at Eliza, while the “delicious” was meant for Renee.
Tina’s lips curved into a smile, and the heaviness in her heart melted away, replaced by a warm sense of belonging.
Eliza. Tina, and Renee ate together, enjoying their bowl of spaghetti with relish.
After finishing their meal, Eliza told Tina, “Since Sophie has an unknown, shadow guard keeping watch over her, there’s no need to visit the Duke’s estate anymore. Stay here at the nunnery and keep a close eye on things. If that person is indeed working with Sophie, according to her style, it won’t be long before she sends someone to test us.”
