Chapter 10
“Since Tyler called the police,” I told the officer calmly, “could you do me a favor and pass on a message? Tell him, we’re done. No more contact, no more entanglement. I wish him peace. I hope he leaves me in peace, too.
“And as for the company, I’ve already handed everything over. That’s it.”
After that, I traveled around Hawaii.
Years of hard work had finally paid off. I was financially free now—no longer shackled to endless board meetings, reports, and high–stakes numbers.
Life was suddenly easy. Relaxed. Blissfully quiet.
The internet was still buzzing over the runaway bride drama, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
Online gossip always flares up and dies down.
A few days later, there’d be something else for people to obsess over. Let them scroll. Let them talk. I’d already moved on.
To be honest, after everything Tyler had put me through, I had no faith left in marriage or love.
Starting a new relationship? Not even on my radar.
But fate works in strange ways. Sometimes, it finds you when you’re not looking.

On the fifth day of my trip, I accidentally saved a man from jumping off a cliff.
I spotted him standing dangerously close to the edge of a mountain valley, leaning forward just a little too far.
Of course, I couldn’t just stand there and watch him fall. So I ran up from behind and tackled him to the ground.
“Hey–don’t do something so stupid!”
“Let me go… Just let me go. I don’t want to live anymore. She dumped me.”

He was sobbing so hard he could barely breathe.
“Dumped?” I said. “Try being ditched at the altar–100 times. And guess what? Still alive.
“How many times have you been dumped, huh? You think you had it bad?”
I used my own story to talk him off the ledge.
He stopped crying and looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head.
“Wait, 100 times? You’re lying.”
He didn’t believe it.
I just sighed and pulled out my phone. Typed our names into the search bar.
“See for yourself.”

He scrolled in silence for a solid 15 minutes. By the end, he seemed calmer. Much calmer.
“Okay,” he finally said, eyes wide. “I’m not gonna kill myself, because you’ve definitely got it even worse than I did.”
His name was Tobias Cantrell–a fresh college graduate.
His girlfriend had left him right before graduation so she could marry the son of a low–level government official. The guy had connections and a steady job lined up.
Tobias took it hard. Real hard. That was why he wanted to commit suicide.
But hearing my story weirdly encouraged him. From then on, we became travel buddies.
Surprisingly, we got along really well.
And the way he looked at me was getting more intense by the day.
He relied on me completely, like a clingy little puppy.
And honestly? I realized I kinda liked that
Especially when he’s that good–looking.
Tyler couldn’t even compare–Tobias left him in the dust.
Totally my type.
“Officer, please–just tell me where Sharon is! I need to find her! I want to marry her!”
Tyler had shown up at the precinct again, begging for help. However,

the police refused, as they should have.
I was safe, and that meant my whereabouts were private.
And as far as the law’s concerned, Tyler and I were nothing to each other now. He had no right to ask.
Over the next two weeks, he tried everything to find me. Every contact, every trick, every lead–all dead ends. He lost over 5 kg. He looked pale, hollow–eyed, like someone who hadn’t slept or eaten in days.
No one online felt sorry for him–everyone said he deserved it.
In real life, even his friends and family mocked him, saying he had brought it all on himself.
He tried calling my parents, too, but they couldn’t stand him. Naturally, they slammed the door in his face.
Lately, he kept rewatching all 100 wedding videos. Over and over, he watched himself running off and me, left behind–helpless, humiliated.
