Chapter 10
Thalia finally had time to eat.
She stabbed her steak viciously with her fork.
“That scumbag! If I ever see him again, I’m gonna knock his teeth out. Every. Single. Time.”
I had thought that as long as I stayed hidden, Dorian wouldn’t be able to find me.
So when he actually appeared in front of me a month later, I couldn’t believe it.
I froze, stunned that the one blocking my path… was him.
The once dashing and proud Alpha now looked like a walking corpse–gaunt cheeks, sunken eyes, pale as death.
Even his once thick hair had thinned drastically.
When he saw me, he instinctively reached up to run a hand through his hair.
And immediately pulled out a clump of it.
He was shedding worse than I did in a whole week.
I recoiled in alarm, thinking he might be sick.
But the moment he realized what he had done, he quickly tossed the hair aside and locked his glowing eyes on me.
His gaze roamed over me like it was mapping every inch.
I felt sick. I turned to leave.
“Corinna… I finally found you.”
His voice cracked. “Do you know how I’ve survived this past month? I couldn’t survive another day without you.”
“How could you be so heartless–just leave me like that…”
He looked utterly pitiful, reaching for my hand with desperate urgency.
I jerked away, stumbling back–right into Thalia, who had just come over with her coffee.
The moment she saw Dorian, she shoved her drink into my hand and started rolling up her sleeves, already scanning for something to use as a weapon.
Dorian didn’t even register her presence. He just kept smiling at me like a lunatic.
“Corinna, you’re even more beautiful than before! I missed you so much it actually hurts–here, feel my heart if you don’t believe me…”
Thalia lost it.
She grabbed a nearby glass and smashed it straight onto his hand.
“You wanna touch her? Here–touch this!”
When that didn’t satisfy her, she threw the glass aside and went in bare–fisted.
I quickly grabbed her arm, afraid he might hit her back.
But Dorian didn’t even flinch.
Instead, he stepped closer, eyes filled with pain and desperation.
“Corinna, hit me. Both of you, go ahead! As long as it helps you let it out, I don’t care what you do to me!”

“Just… don’t use your hands. Get a bat or something. If you hurt yourself, I won’t be able to bear it…”
He was genuinely begging for a beating, as if it might cleanse his guilt.
But why should I dirty my hands just to ease his conscience?
“Dorian, it’s over between us. Just let me go.”
He didn’t believe I didn’t love him anymore.
He kept swearing, over and over, as if saying it enough times would make it true.
His fists were clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white, blood trailing down his fingers from where his nails dug into his palms.
But he didn’t even flinch.
“Corinna, I knew Selina tried to provoke you again. I sent her back myself. Her father sold her off to some sixty–year–old geezer for political gain–she’ll never get the chance to mess with you again.”
“And those Beta buddies of mine, I already cut them all off. I swear, from now on, I’ll devote myself entirely to you and our future together…”
Too bad.
I no longer believed a word he said.
I would never forget the cold, cruel look in his eyes when he barked at me.
And I would never erase the image of him tangled up with another woman.
Everything between us should have ended the moment I walked away.
I pulled Thalia by the hand, trying to get around him.
But Dorian staggered after me, grabbing onto my arm like a lifeline, his voice breaking with sobs.
“Corinna, please! Don’t leave me again, I beg you! I know what I did is unforgivable, but I’ve always loved you. I never think of marking anyone else, I swear.”
I couldn’t shake him off.
Thalia, fuming, reached for a chair and tried to bash it over his back
He didn’t even dodge.
Took the full blow, coughed up blood–he still wouldn’t let go.
The sight made my chest ache–not with pity, but pure, suffocating frustration.
I couldn’t let Thalia beat him to death in the middle of a café.
So I reached out to stop her.
The moment I did, his eyes lit up again.
“I knew it! You still care. You couldn’t stand to see me get hurt…”
“Dorian,” I said coldly.
“I’m happy now. Happier than I’ve ever been. Please, stop making me sick and stop ruining my life.”
“I’m begging you.”
He stared up at me.
I looked at him without a shred of warmth.

And in that instant, whatever delusion he was clinging to finally broke.
He dropped his gaze and muttered.
“Okay…”
One word.
But it sounded like it took everything he had left.
He collapsed fully onto the ground, shaking with silent sobs.
A crowd started to gather.
Thalia, never one to keep quiet, made sure they all knew exactly who he was.
“Yeah, that’s me! The infamous ‘Second – Personality Scumbag‘ from the livestream! The Dorian!”
Everyone started cursing him, saying he damn well deserved it.
Thalia and I walked away without looking back.
Someone couldn’t help but asked him, “If you knew it would end like this, why did you do it in the first place?”
Dorian didn’t answer.
Didn’t even cry anymore.
He just raised his head slightly to watch my back as I walked away.
And whispered, “Corinna… I’m sorry…”
But I didn’t need his apology.
I didn’t need anything from him anymore.
