Chapter 17
Leopold felt as if he’d been struck by lightning. His fingers clenched tightly around the phone. “What did you just say?!”
But at that exact moment, the car entered a tunnel. The signal dropped, and the call was automatically cut off.
“Turn around! Head to the Eboncrest Pack!” Leopold’s voice was terrifyingly cold, his eyes burning with a fury he had never had before.
The Beta was so shaken that his hands slipped on the steering wheel. He quickly swerved the car and made a U–turn.
He had never seen Leopold like this before.
The man, usually calm and composed, now had bloodshot eyes and a clenched jaw, as if he was about to explode at any second.
The car sped all the way to the Eboncrest Pack’s wolf castle Leopold directly kicked the door open and stormed inside.
Alpha Vexley, who had been sipping coffee on the sofa, nearly dropped his cup in shock. “Leopold? What are you doing here?”
“Did Clarisse go to the Noctelle Pack?” Leopold’s voice was sharp and cold, each word forced through gritted teeth.
Alpha Vexley paused, then gave a fawning smile. “Yes, she bonded with that Alpha as I demanded three days ago. You’ve always said Clarisse was too much trouble, haven’t you? The dying Alpha of Noctelle Pack offered a fortune for a mate, so I asked her to bond with him. Now you can finally be with Grace in peace, without anyone getting in the way…”
“Who told you I liked Grace?!”
Leopold suddenly slammed his fist into the coffee table. The glass shattered instantly.
He couldn’t believe it–this so–called father had sold his own daughter for a billion.
“Someone, get in here,” he said coldly. “Tear this wolf castle apart!”
The Beta rushed in with a group of enforcers. Porcelain, furniture, priceless paintings–everything was smashed to pieces within
moments.
Alpha Vexley’s face turned pale. “Leopold! What the hell are you doing?!”
“From this moment on,” Leopold said slowly and clearly, word by word, “the Eboncrest Pack is officially bankrupt and under liquidation.”
“No! Leopold! You can’t do this!” Alpha Vexley lunged forward, pleading. “For the sake of your father and my friendship—”
“Friendship?” Leopold let out a bitter laugh. “Do you think you’re worthy of that word?”
Just then, Grace burst into the room.
“Leopold! Why are you doing this to Uncle Vexley?!” She suddenly seemed to realize something and shrieked hysterically, “You’ve fallen for Clarisse, haven’t you?!”
“Yes, I’ve fallen for her. So what?”
Grace stood frozen, as if struck by lightning, then broke into crazed laughter. “But she’ll never love you back!”
“You love her but never said a word! Everyone thought you liked me instead!” she screamed hysterically. “I bribed your servants to fill your study with photos of me. Guess what–do you think Clarisse saw them?”
“And as for those people in the Pack Prison who ‘took care‘ of her, I arranged all of them in your name!”
“Why do you think she burned down the wolf castle? Because I told her you’d copied surveillance footage of the two of you in bed, just to blackmail her!”
Grace’s laughter twisted into something demonic. “She wasn’t forced to bond with anyone. She gave up on you completely. She bonds with another Alpha of her own free will.”
“With her personality, even if you explained everything, she’d never come back to you!”

“After all, it was you who copied the videos. You personally picked me up from the airport. You were the one who personally threw her into the Pack Prison!”
“Every part of this was your doing!”
Each word stabbed into Leopold’s chest like a blade.
He remembered how strange Clarisse had been these past few days.
She no longer threw tantrums, and no longer clung to him. She didn’t even bother replying to his messages. She burned down the wolf castle and left without hesitation, without a backward glance.
So, she had already seen those photos, and already heard the rumors. She had completely lost faith in him.
And as for the surveillance footage, he did have copied it. But it was only because he wanted to keep it for himself.
He remembered the furrow of her brows when she was overwhelmed with passion. The way she bit her lip to hold back her moans. The corners of her eyes turned red when she climaxed.
He couldn’t bring himself to delete those scenes.
But now, all of it had become knives plunged into her heart.
“Grace.” He turned, his voice cold. “You will pay for this.”
Alpha Vexley lunged forward and grabbed his arm. “Leopold! You can’t do this! The Eboncrest Pack is still a powerful pack. I was your father’s closest friend, you can’t-”
“I can.” Leopold shook him off, his eyes void of warmth. “I’ll give you a choice.”
“You have to ask Grace and her mother,” he said each word slowly and clearly, “You have to ask them to form a bond with that seventy–year–old rogue outside the Auremere Pack’s territory.”
“I hear he’s grumpy and gets twisted tastes. He has a whole collection of ways to torture Omegas. I think Grace and her mother will love
it.”
“If not, by this time tomorrow, the Eboncrest Pack will cease to exist.”
Alpha Vexley trembled from head to toe. In the end, he gritted his teeth and barked, “Guards! Tie them up!”
Grace screamed and struggled. “Uncle Vexley! You can’t do this! You said my mom was your first love! You said that you’d treat me like your own daughter!”
“Shut up!” Alpha Vexley slapped her across the face. “If you hadn’t acted on your own, none of this would’ve happened!”
As Grace and her mother howled and begged, Leopold walked out without looking back.
“Get the jet ready,” he told the Beta. “We’re heading to Silverden. Now,”
Onboard the plane, Leopold clutched the pearl necklace so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
He couldn’t bear the thought of Clarisse forming a bond with another Alpha.
He even couldn’t allow that little kitten to belong to anyone else.
He had to bring Clarisse back.
Even if he had to turn the world upside down.
Even if it cost him everything.
