Secrets
Meghan’s POV
“What are you doing here. Ryan?” I hissed. He chuckled and made his way into my apartment as if he owned the place.
“You don’t look too happy to see me, Meghan. I thought we were good friends.” he drawled and I rolled my eyes.
Friends, indeed!
“Friends don’t blackmail friends! Tell me what the fuck you want and get the hell out!” I hissed.
“Calm your titties baby girl, I bring news,” he smirked and I crossed my arms, clearly unimpressed. Any time Ryan visited me, I was either losing money or body fluids.
“Well… go on!” I hissed with annoyance. Everything about him was just irritating me. I just wanted him to say whatever he came to say and leave. me the fuck alone.
“It’s about Veronica…” he started and I rolled my eyes.
“Oh, that one! She’s alive, so what?”
“You don’t seem so surprised,” he noted and I raised a brow. “Do you also know that she’s pregnant?”
That was what made me freeze.
“Veronica is pregnant?” I gasped.

“Is that so?” He snorted and I shot him a thick glare. “Is there something you’d like to say, Ryan?” I fired but he raised his hand in mock surrender
“Of course not, what could I possibly say?” He chuckled. “I’m sure you know that you are just a mistress, just because you’re engaged to him doesn’t mean he is going to marry you.
“Of course it does! Why else would he propose? Besides, our wedding is just a few weeks away. We are going to be together!” I declared.
“That is quite sweet,” he laughed. “Do you really think he will go ahead with the divorce now that his wife is pregnant. He wants to believe that Veronica is pregnant for him even though there’s a chance she might not.
“What are you saying, Ryan? Is Carter still planning to return to Veronica?” I demanded.
“I talked sense into him. There’s something else you need to know, trust me, this one is going to excite you!” He said and I waited eagerly for him to speak but the sly smile on his face told me there was something else involved.
“What is it?”
“Before we get to that, how about you lose those clothes, huh?” He said and I clenched my fists.
“Or what?”
“Come on, baby. You don’t want to push me that far. Come make me feel
good and I promise to give you a very good reward,” he said and I looked. at him with disdain.
I wanted to tell him no so badly but I couldn’t. There was too much at stake and I couldn’t risk him going to Carter with my secrets.
“Just tell me first. It’s not like I can refuse you.” I said dryly. He pretended to be thoughtful for a second.
“I suppose you’re right,” he said. “Veronica is not actually pregnant for Carter, neither is she dating Orthon like we all suspected. She is actually the mistress of a very powerful billionaire and his wife came to meet Carter to tell him about it. She asked for his help to get rid of her.”
My jaw hung in the air. No freaking way this was true!
“Is this a joke?” I demanded.
“I wish it was but Carter has her business card and he is really pissed so…” he trailed off, leaving me to wallow in my disbelief.
I would have never pegged Veronica as that type of woman. She acted like the kind that would be faithful till death.
At least, now I won’t be the only woman guilty of cheating.
“Who is this man?” I asked him.
“Meshach Peyton,” he shrugged and I almost passed out. The Meshach Peyton? Like the billionaire?
This had to be craziest thing I’ve heard. Of all the classy, sexy women at the top, he couldn’t see anyone to go for, it had to be plain ugly Veronica?
Ryan leaned back against the doorframe, clearly enjoying the turmoil he’d stirred in me. His smug expression made my skin crawl, but the revelation was so wild, I couldn’t look away.
“Meshach Peyton?” I repeated, my voice trembling between disbelief and amusement. “You’re telling me that Veronica, boring, holier–than–thou Veronica, is screwing a billionaire? That’s rich, Ryan.”
“It’s the truth.” he said with a mocking shrug. “Believe it or not, sweetheart, your competition isn’t as clean as she pretends to be. Carter’s furious, though. I’d tread carefully if I were you. He might decide her wants her back just to spite that billionaire.”
I clenched my fists so hard my nails dug into my palms. Ryan wasn’t Wrong. Carter could be unpredictable when his pride was hurt.
“Why are you even telling me this?” I asked, narrowing my eyes. “What do you gain from throwing me into this chaos?”
“Oh, Meghan,” he drawled, stepping closer, his voice dripping with mock sincerity. “I’m your friend, remember? Just thought you should know the battlefield you’re playing on. Consider it… charity.”
“You’re such an ass,” I muttered, but my mind was already racing. If Carter knew about Veronica’s affair, he might hesitate to finalize the divorce. And if Veronica’s pregnancy wasn’t Carter’s, then it was only a matter of time before the truth exploded. I could use this to my advantage, if I played it right.
Ryan’s hand brushed my shoulder, pulling me out of my thoughts. I flinched and stepped back, glaring at him.
“Don’t touch me.”
He laughed, the sound grating. “Relax, sweetheart. I’m just trying to lighten the mood. You looked like you were plotting someone’s murder just now. Not that I’d blame you. Veronica deserves a little payback, don’t you think?”

“I’ll handle Veronica in my own way,” I said, my voice steady. “Now, if you’re done, get out.”
“Not so fast, sweetheart, you still have someone to take care of,” he said pointing to his hardened member.

“Really? Maybe Carter would love to know who is the real father of
