Anger and hunger
Carter’s POV
She had to be kidding me.
Why was this woman bent on destroying my life? I opened her livestream and the comments broke me to pieces. Everyone was just so engrossed in her face, suggesting that I hit her and forced her to make the stream.
And she avoided taking those questions. She also ignored vital comments that asked the right questions, which were only two. The rest were just raining insults on me.
Of course her plan worked. No one believed that she was telling the truth. with all those marks on her face. If anything, everyone made their own story and just believed it.
I didn’t even know how to react at this point but I couldn’t just pretend nothing was happening and just go back to kissing. Even she was aware. of that.
“What did you do to her to make her bent on destroying you?” Arie asked

What could I say? Refusing to marrying her? How was I supposed to do all of those when he was she was trying my patience all the fucking time.

Arie was shocked but then she recovered quickly.
“You know what’s crazy, it’s the fact that you can’t even confront her for this. She told me she was going to make a public confession, which I said absolutely nothing to but I didn’t expect that she would actually try to insinuate something like this,” I said, unable to keep the frustration awake from my voice. “All because I want nothing to do with her and the baby she claims to be carrying in her womb. For all I know, there might be no baby to even begin with.”
Arie’s eyes twinkled with amusement.
“No wonder you were drowning yourself in the bar the other day,” she noted.
“She is the main reason my company has lost most of it’s major investors, but it seems that is not enough for her. She wants to see me crumble to the ground,* I said.
“Why don’t you just expose her then? I mean, anything that will let everyone know how manipulative and evil she is,” Arie said.
I paused, thinking deeply about it. That could work very very well. I mean if there was evidence to prove what she really was, people would start asking the right questions.
I turned to Arie, my mind racing. Could it really be that simple? Just expose her?
“You think I haven’t tried?” I exhaled sharply, running a hand down my face. “She’s smart–always makes sure she has the upper hand. She manipulates the narrative before I even have a chance to defend myself. That’s how she wins.”
Arie crossed her arms, a smirk tugging at her lips. “Sounds like you’re giving up already.”
I narrowed my eyes at her. “I never said that.”
She tilted her head, watching me carefully. “Then prove it. Stop playing defense and take control of the situation before she destroys you
completely.”
She had a point but it was easier said than done. Especially with a woman. like Meghan.
“So, what do you suggest I do?” I asked her. “How do we get this evidence?”
“Why are you speaking like a child, You know exactly what we are going to do,” Arie stated. “You are going to plant a camera in your room and invite her to come over here then bait her into exposing herself.”
“That soundz very easy. How the fuck did I not think of this earlier? Thank you so much, Arie. If this works out well, I will be forever indebted to you,” I said, barely able to contain the excitement in my voice. I just couldn’t wait for the end of all this negative press. “I think I’m going to start right now.”
Arie gave me a look.
“Are you joking or you’re just trying to piss me off?” She asked with a serious expression. Why was she angry with me now? “You thought I paid for this comfy place so you could just enjoy the air conditioner and drown your problems then leave once you think you have an idea on how to solve them?”
Think I have an idea? Damn she was brutal.

“Aric, as much as the thought of fucking you makes so much sense right. now. I need to go fix my life. I promise I will make it up to you,” I said but she wasn’t buying it.
“I don’t care what you have to do. Minutes ago, you didn’t even know that solution, now you just want to leave? You better take your fucking clothes off and get on the bed, Carter. We came here for a reason and we are going to do just that,” she stated.
I let out a low chuckle, shaking my head. Arie was something else. I knew she wasn’t going to let me go I told I succumbed to her.
“Aric, you know I don’t back down from a challenge,” I said, stepping closer, my voice dropping to a murmur. “But right now, my life is falling apart, and I need to fix it before there’s nothing left to salvage.”
She arched a brow, unimpressed. “And what exactly do you think is going to happen if you run off half–prepared? Meghan has already set the stage. You make one wrong move, and she’ll twist it to make herself look even more like the victim.”
I ran a hand through my hair, frustration bubbling up again. “Then tell me, what the hell do you want me to do?”
She smirked, dragging a single finger down my chest. “Stay. Let’s plan this the right way, after we’ve had our fun, of course. Then, when you do go after her, you won’t just clear your name, you’ll destroy her for good.”
I exhaled sharply. This woman was definitely something and I did want to stay. It would be good to feel my body relax.
“Fine,” I muttered. “But don’t think I don’t know exactly what you’re doing.”
She grinned, stepping back toward the bed. “Oh? And what am I doing?”
I narrowed my eyes, watching as she slipped off her jacket slowly while maintaining eye contact with me. “Distracting me.”
She let out a laugh, a sultry, knowing sound. “Maybe. But let’s be honest, Carter, don’t you need one?”
I hesitated. The weight of everything Meghan, the scandal, my failing company, it all pressed down on me and it was suffocating. But here, with Aric, the chaos quieted just enough for me to breathe.
I didn’t have any reason to not stay over. I wanted her, just as much as she wanted me.
“Take off your clothes, Carter. It’s no fun repeating the same thing over and over again,” she said. “Or do you need help?”
She took a seductive stride towards me and I was honestly lost in her effortless beauty.
She stopped in front of me, “Perhaps you want me to get on my knees and help you with my pants, huh?”
My member hardened as those words slipped out smoothly from her lips as she slowly dropped to her knees.
This was going to be one hell of a night.
