Chapter 20 Giselle Is My Wife
“Mom, Dad, stop arguing. Give me a break, please.” Giselle felt like. her head was splitting.
“Sure. Have a good rest. I will go back and cook something for you,” Madilyn said.
The hospital room fell silent instantly. It was so quiet that Giselle could almost hear her own heartbeat.
Giselle took out her phone and blocked Fabian’s number. Apart from that, she also blocked him on WhatsApp.
“Dr. Hurley, Fabian and I have already signed the divorce papers. In the future, please don’t tell him about my stuff, including my pregnancy,” she said.
“Okay, then have you decided what to do about the baby?” Jarrett
asked.
“I won’t keep this baby. Since we’re getting a divorce, we should cut all tics,” Giselle replied.
Giselle stayed in the hospital for two days before being discharged.
On Madilyn’s birthday, Fabian went back alone without Giselle.
When he arrived, Tatiana was already there, standing next to Madilyn. She was all dressed up and stayed by Madilyn’s side the whole time.
The house was packed with guests, making him feel like an outsider.
“Mrs. Mercado, Fabian is back,” Tatiana said with a smile.
“Fabian, where is Giselle? Why didn’t she come? Does she not even remember my birthday?” Madilyn asked coldly.
“Gigi is a bit under the weather. She can’t make it tonight,” Fabian lied.
Jarrett hadn’t told him about Giselle’s hospitalization.
Giselle blocked him. Clearly, she didn’t want to see him.
“Is she dying? We have given her the best of everything, and yet she has the nerve to give me attitude!” Madilyn seized the opportunity and looked down on Giselle even more.
“Mom, please stop.” Fabian was caught in the middle, drained and stressed.
Madilyn snapped, “Can’t I scold her? She has no manners at all and doesn’t respect her elders! She had bad intentions back then. Yet, you insisted on marrying her. When are you going to divorce her?”
“Mom, Giselle is my wife. If you scold her, it’s like scolding me. I feel awful too!” Even if he and Giselle were getting a divorce, he wouldn’t allow others to scold her.
“Fabian, I don’t mean to scold you. You’ve seen what Giselle is like. She didn’t even come to my birthday party. She really doesn’t take me seriously,” said Madilyn.
“Mom, don’t scold Gigi. Gigi is really nice. Every time she comes, she cooks delicious food for me in person,” Fabian’s sister, Theresa Mercado defended Giselle.
Theresa was two years older than Giselle but had the mind of a ten-

year–old due to her intellectual disabilities.
“Theresa, my silly girl, Giselle is scheming. She’s just trying to piss me off! Don’t be fooled by her!” Madilyn said.
“Mom, Gigi isn’t that bad. I like Gigi. Fabian, don’t divorce Gigi. If you do, I won’t be able to see Gigi anymore. I’ll miss her,” Theresa pleaded.
With guests around and it being Madilyn’s birthday, Fabian didn’t say anything more. Giselle’s absence today meant they couldn’t fix things.
Anyway, they were getting a divorce and wouldn’t cross paths again.
Tatiana stood by the side, unable to get a word in. She had thought Giselle would come today. Madilyn had said that if Giselle came, she would expose Giselle’s true colors in front of everyone.
It was a real pity that Giselle didn’t make it today.
Since Theresa was standing up for Giselle, Tatiana thought she needed. to find a way to connect with Theresa.
“You bad woman! Fabian and Gigi are meant to be. You can’t steal him away!” Theresa didn’t like Tatiana at all. She was fond of Giselle.
