Chapter 7 Her Duties
As Fabian finished his bath and walked out, Giselle had already made. the bed in the guest bedroom.
“Gigi. before the divorce is finalized, I won’t do anything to betray you. So, shouldn’t you fulfill your duties as my wife?” He held her from behind and kissed her elegant earlobe.
Giselle felt bitter, thinking. “This is why he’s here tonight.
“Tatiana’s legs are still recovering, so he’s here to sleep with me. What am I in his eyes? A sex toy?”
“Sorry. I’m not feeling well today.” She turned him down.
“What’s wrong? Are you on your period?” He stroked her abdomen gently.
She pushed him away and turned into the master bedroom.
He followed her, scooped her up, laid her in bed, and lowered his head to kiss her. “You’reregular on the 10th, right? Today is the 18th.”
“Mr. Mercado, do you really think this is appropriate?” She pushed him away, placed her hands on her abdomen, and tilted her face away
to avoid his kiss.
It had been days since they had last been intimate. Also, the alcohol burned away his self–control. The more Giselle resisted it, the more aroused he grew.
He pinned her hands above her head and kissed her domineeringly.
“Who did you see while I was away?” Though he had been abroad, he knew everything she did,
She turned her head around and frowned in discomfort. Unlike usual, he was so brutal today.
Giselle remained silent and kept avoiding his touch, which further enraged Fabian.
“What is it? You’ve fallen for someone else already? Did you fuck him already? Is that why you don’t wanna do it with me?” Fabian didn’t know what had gotten into him. He just wanted to make her hurt.
“Nothing has ever happened between Damion and me!” Yelping in pain, Giselle nipped at his shoulder.
Fabian grunted, “So, his name is Damion.”
“Mr. Mercado, nothing is going on between Damion and me. Please leave him out of this.”
“It seems you’re so worried about him. He means a lot to you, doesn’t he?”
The more she explained, the worse things got. She chose to fall silent.
Noticing this, Fabian was even more furious. He thought, “She’s not saying no. So, does it mean yes? Does that man mean so much to her? We haven’t divorced yet, and she’s fallen for someone else already?
“I was guilty toward her when proposing a divorce, feeling that I had failed her. Now it seems I’ve got nothing to be guilty about at all.”
“Fabian! You’re hurting me!” Giselle couldn’t take it anymore and slapped him.
The slap brought some of his sanity back. He let go of her, pulled up his pants, and straightened up, his expression unfathomable.
She quickly got dressed and curled up in bed, refusing to say a word.
The stand–off‘ lasted for a few minutes before Fabian’s phone rang. Giselle subconsciously glanced over and saw Tatiana’s name flashing
on the screen.
Fabian didn’t answer it. Soon, it rang again. Seeing it was still Tatiana, he rejected the call directly.
“Get some rest. I’ll come by tomorrow morning to pick you up, and we’ll go visit Grandma together.”
Giselle still remained silent. After what felt like an eternity, the door was closed. Fabian left.
She thought, “Tatiana truly means the world to him. He rushed to her so eagerly upon receiving her call.
“Giselle, time for you to give up.”
She lay in bed, lost in thought. Tears streamed down her cheeks before she realized it.
