Chapter 8 Entirely Different
“Damn! Am I dreaming? You’ve never bought us drinks so late before. Are you gonna share some great news with us?” Hayden Dawson asked. He was one of Fabian’s childhood friends.
“Fabian’s about to get a divorce and marry Tatiana. Isn’t that great news?” Jarrett said.
Fabian frowned. It was so weird–the divorce was happening, but he wasn’t as thrilled as he had imagined.
“A divorce? What’s wrong with Giselle? She’s pretty and sensible. Personally, she’s prettier than Tatiana, and she’s so gentle and easier to handle. Are you sure you’re gonna divorce her, Fabian?” Hayden seemed skeptical.
“Of course. He’s done playing her. Fabian, I don’t understand. You were just playing with her in the first place, yeah? So, why did you marry her? You totally ruined her. Are you feeling proud of yourself?” Jarrett had always been blunt by nature. He loathed Fabian for
knocking Giselle up and then divorcing her.
“Enough, Jarrett. I’m sure Fabian has his reasons,” Hayden said.
“Fine. Go ahead and divorce her. So, now that you’re letting her go, I can pursue her, right? You no longer have a say in this. You don’t want. her, but I do,” Jarrett said.
“I see. You’ve been coveting my wife, haven’t you? You must have been praying for us to get a divorce!” Fabian, who had been silent all this time, suddenly snapped and punched Jarrett.

“You fucking coward, Fabian! You’re gonna regret it someday! Mark my words!” Jarrett fumed before storming out.
Giselle got up at 6:00 a.m. the next day.
Seeing that her eyes were still red and a bit puffy, she iced them and put on some makeup quickly.
She had been looking terrible these days, and the fatigue on her face was still obvious even with makeup.
She thought, “Tll be in a better place after the divorce.
“Everything will be better.”
“Gigi, where are you and Fabian? I’ve been waiting for you all morning.” She received a message from Giada Mercado, Fabian’s grandmother.
“Giada, Fabian has just come back from a business trip and is feeling a bit tired. We might be a little late,” she replied.
She had texted Fabian earlier in the morning, wanting to know when they would head to the Mercado’s mansion, but he didn’t reply.
He was with Tatiana, and of course, she wouldn’t disturb them.
She wasn’t upset at all because she had made up her mind. From now on, she’d learn to be calm and composed when facing everything.
Fabian showed up around noon. It seemed he didn’t sleep a wink at all last night.
Since he had been with Tatiana the whole night, Giselle didn’t ask him anything.
Chapter Entirely Different
When Fabian saw Giselle, he was obviously stunned because she had. seldom worn makeup. She was already beautiful without makeup–he never imagined she’d look even more breathtaking with it.
“Let’s go. Grandma is getting worried.” He walked over and subconsciously wanted to hold her hand.
“OK.” However, she put her hand in her pocket, silently turning him
down.
For some reason, he felt a sense of loss.
“Let’s go to the courthouse to finalize the divorce in the afternoon,” Giselle proposed in the car.
“Are you this eager to be with Damion?” Fabian suddenly asked, ignoring her proposal.
“Mr. Mercado, you cheated on me first, and it was you who wanted a divorce. So what if I’m seeing someone?” she sighed as she rolled down the window and looked out.
Fabian fell silent at once. At this precise moment, Giselle seemed so cold and different, almost an entirely different person from the gentle wife he had always pictured.
