Finn was still weeping crocodile tears on camera, but I had no interest in watching his performance anymore. I pulled Serena to the
restaurant to enjoy a meal.
But Serena refused to miss a single second of Finn’s downfall. She couldn’t even spare the time to eat. When she mentioned that
Finn was crying so hard he nearly fainted, I just found it dull.
Why didn’t he realize this sooner?
Predictably, his confession only earned him the scorn of the internet. Lara was dragged down with him.
But Lara didn’t feel ashamed. She saw it as an opportunity. She hiked up her now–dirty wedding dress and walked toward Finn with a smile, kneeling opposite him.
She confessed her love to him, her voice dripping with emotion. “Finn, honey, Elvira running away from the wedding just proves she doesn’t love you. It was just a small test, and she irresponsibly aborted your child. That’s the best proof!”
Finn, submerged in his own world of pain, looked up and saw Lara. The tenderness of the past weeks vanished. He lunged at her,
his hands closing around her throat.
“You bitch! It’s all your fault! If you hadn’t seduced me, how could I have missed all the signs?”

Chapter 2
Lara’s eyes were bulging from the pressure, but he wouldn’t let go.
The livestream, deemed too violent, was abruptly cut off.

Serena finally had time to eat. She stabbed her steak viciously with her fork. “Scumbag! If I ever see him, I’ll beat him up every time!”
I thought that as long as I stayed hidden, Finn would never find me.
So when he appeared in front of me a month later, I couldn’t believe it was him. The handsome, vibrant man I knew was gone. He was gaunt, his cheekbones protruding, his eyes sunken, his skin deathly pale. His once thick hair was patchy and thin.
When he saw me, he nervously pulled at his hair, a habit he’d developed. A large clump came out in his hand, more hair than I lost in a week.
I thought he was sick and quickly stepped back. He realized what he had done and hastily threw the hair away, his eyes shining brightly as he stared at me.
Feeling his gaze tracing the contours of my face, I felt sick and turned to leave.
“Elvira… I finally found you. Elvira, do you know what this past month has been like for me? If I hadn’t found you, I really wouldn’t have been able to go on!”
“How could you be so cruel, leaving me just like that…” He sounded so wronged.
He eagerly reached for my hand. I shook him off and stepped back, bumping into Serena, who was holding a smoothie. She popped her head around me, saw Finn, and handed me her drink. She immediately started rolling up her sleeves and looking for a weapon.
Finn seemed oblivious, smiling foolishly at me. “Elvira, you’re even more beautiful than before! I missed you so much, my heart aches. Feel it…”
Serena, frantic, grabbed a glass cup from a nearby table and hurled it at his hand. “I’ll give you something to feel!”
With no weapon, Serena was ready to use her fists. Fearing Finn might fight back, I quickly stopped her.
But Finn knelt before me again. “Elvira, hit me! Both of you, hit me! As long as it makes you feel better, anything is fine!”
“Elvira, find a tool. Don’t hit me with your bare hands. If you hurt your hand, my heart will ache!”
He genuinely begged me to hit him, seeking some kind of psychological release. But why should I dirty my hands just to make him feel better?
“Finn, we are over. Please, just leave me alone.”
He didn’t believe I had stopped loving him. He swore oaths, oblivious to the fact that his knees were grinding into broken glass, blood pooling on the ground.
“Elvira, Lara dared to provoke you, so I personally sent her home. Her father sold her to a sixty–year–old man for business favors. She will never bother you again!”
“I’ve cut ties with Jason and all those bad influences. I promise I will dedicate myself to you, to our beautiful life together…” Unfortunately, I would never believe him again. I would never forget the cold indifference in his eyes as he yelled at me. I didn’t want to remember the Images of him passionately entangled with another woman.
It should all have ended the moment I left.
I pulled Serena and tried to walk around him. He crawled on his hands and knees, clutching my pant leg, weeping. “Elvira, please, don’t leave me, okay? I will never betray you again. I know what I did is unforgivable, but I loved you from the beginning to the end. I never wanted to marry anyone else!”

I felt incredibly annoyed. As Serena raised the chair again, I didn’t want a death on my hands, so I blocked her.
Hope flared in his eyes again. “Elvira, I knew you still loved me. You couldn’t bear to see me hurt…”
“Finn, I am very happy without you. Stop disgusting me, stop ruining my happiness, okay?”
“I’m begging you.”
I looked down at him, unflinching. He looked up for just a moment, and seeing the absolute lack of emotion in my eyes, he quickly bowed his head, afraid to look at me.
He finally let go.
“Okay…”
That single word seemned to drain the last of his strength. He collapsed onto the ground, sobbing quietly, drawing a crowd. Serena, making sure everyone knew who he was, loudly proclaimed that he was the “Second Personality Scumbag” who had gone viral a month ago. Immediately, everyone started cursing him, saying he deserved it.
Serena and I left without looking back.
Someone couldn’t help but ask him, “If you knew it would end like this, why did you do it in the first place?”
He couldn’t even cry anymore. He just lifted his head and murmured to my retreating figure, “Elvira, I’m sorry…”
He didn’t know. I didn’t need “I’m sorry.” I just needed to be treated right.
