Heath lifted his eyes, casting an indifferent glance at Aurora.
ir some reason, just this one look made Aurora feel

What a strange man.
Heath merely looked at her once and then ignored her, continuing to chat with Grandpa.
Grandpa and Heath’s father were acquaintances, so Heath had taken time out of his busy schedule to come to wish him a happy birthday.
Now, the Pendleton family seemed to be planning to expand into the capital, and they would need to rely more on the Fairbank family. There was much collaboration to come between the two families.
Before they knew it, evening had arrived. Grandpa invited Heath to stay for dinner at the ancestral home, and Heath agreed with a nod after looking at Aurora once more.
The kitchen at the ancestral home prepared dishes that Grandpa loved, and Heath seemed not to be picky, tasting everything that was served. Aurora, on the other hand, ate sparingly because she was on a diet.
“Aurora’s not eating much?” Heath suddenly asked.
“Don’t mind her; she’s fussing about losing weight and not eating properly,” Grandpa said with a laugh.
His tone was reproachful but affectionate. Aurora had been keeping him happy these days.
“You still need to eat when you’re dieting. Your health is important, Heath added.
“Thanks for your concern, Mr. Fairbank Aurora said dryly.
Heath frowned. Just a few days ago, she was calling him Heath, and now she had switched to Mr. Fairbank.
This little girl sure has a temper.
The entire dinner table was filled with conversation between Heath and Grandpa, while Aurora sat quietly.
After dinner, Heath said goodbye to Grandpa, who said, “I’m getting old, Aurora, Help me see Heath off.”
Aurora reluctantly stood up and escorted Heath to the gate, then turned to leave.
“Come back,” Heath said.
Aurora turned around and asked, “Is there anything else, Mr. Fairbank?”
Heath stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. Aurora retreated step by step until she was against the wall Heath leaned in, his clear and elegant scent enveloping her, and asked in a deep, magnetic voice, ‘Are you angry?”
“No, why would a high school student like me be angry with you?” Aurora replied.
“You want to be a star?” Heath asked again.
“Are you concerned about my career planning?“–/ Aurora asked.
“You can’t be a star,” Heath stated.
“What gives you the right to deny me like th
that?” Aurora said, her voice filled with resentment.
“Because I rescued you from that broken alley. If the Pendleton family can reduce you to this state, the chaotic entertainment industry will eat you up until there’s nothing left, not even bones! Heath said, his face twisted in mockery.

Chapter 18
What had happened in that small alley was Aurora’s greatest shame since her rebirth, a constant reminder that she was not Olivia.
She was weak and fragile, easily trampled upon.
Like the dying Olivia, scarred and broken, unable to save Mike no o matter how many times she dreamed of that midnight, only able to watch him die before her eyes..
“Even if there are no bones left, they’re my bones! You don’t need to worry about it, Mr. Fairbank! Aurora shouted.
She was not like the other socialites in the city, seeking Heath’s favor. She didn’t need to listen to his scolding.
She was Olivia, a killer seeking revenge, needing great power and lots of money.
Heath grabbed Aurora’s chin and sneered, “Challenging me? Do you know what happened to the last person who did that?”
It was the first time he had been angered by a young girl.
“Are you going to kill me, Mr. Fairbank?” Aurora asked, her chin hurting but still defiant.
“Aurora, you really are bold!” Heath said.
“I’m just a young girl, no need for you to worry!” Aurora replied.
Heath laughed coldly and let her go, saying, “You’re right; why should I care about such a small matter?”
Without waiting for Aurora’s response, he turned and got into his car.
Aurora could vaguely see the man sitting upright in the back seat of the luxurious Rolls–Royce as it drove away without raising a speck of dust, leaving her strangely breathless.
She didn’t know if it was because of their inexplicable argument or Heath’s words about not caring about such a small matter.
She shook her head in annoyance. Heath was indeed as capricious as rumored. It was best to avoid such a man.
She turned and went back to the ancestral home.
