Little Fish walked over and softly asked, “Miss Aurora, what’s wrong?”
Kicking a small stone at her feet, Aurora asked, “Little Fish, what do people usually do when they’re feeling down?”
Little Fish thought for a moment and said, “Drink, sing, eat, or go shopping. I guess.”
Shopping was out; she needed to save money for when Jasper Bennett and the others came over. Eating was also a no–go; she was on a diet. But drinking and singing? That could work.
Aurora stood up and said, “Little Fish, wanna go get a drink?”
“Huh?” Little Fish was caught off guard.
Grabbing her hand, Aurora said, “Come on, let’s go drink.”
They found a bar that was still pretty empty since it was early evening. Aurora led Little Fish to a secluded seat, ordered a crate of beer, and boldly placed it on the table. “Drink up, and then we’ll go home!”
Little Fish hesitated, not daring to drink.
Aurora had the waiter open all the beers and took a big gulp herself. “Ah, that hits the spot. It’s been a while!*

Colorful drinks cluttered the table. Aurora sampled each one, mixing alcohols. Soon enough, she was drunk,

Heath looked down from the second floor and spotted Aurora, drunk and surrounded by a mess of bottles and glasses. Little Fish was trying to get her to leave, but she was having none of it.

Kieran quickly appeared. “Sir.”

“Yes, sir,” Kieran promptly went to get the car.
“Heath, you’re leaving?” Lysander popped out of the room. “What about me?”
“Stay here. Some woman will pick you up,” Heath said, heading downstairs.
Lysander muttered angrily, “Do I look like someone who’s that easy?!”
