Chapter 30
In less than five minutes, Heath emerged from his room again, now dressed in casual clot
Aurora, on the other hand, was still standing in the same spot, puzzled about why she was even here.
Heath walked past her, hending straight for the dining table to have breakfast.
Ignoring her again, huh? Aurora thought.
“Why am I here, Heath?” she asked.
“Ran into you. You were drunk, Heath replied without turning his head.
So cold. Aurora felt like she was freezing from his icy tone and indifferent back.
“Who changed my clothes?” she asked.
“The maid,” Heath answered.
“What about Little Fish? The girl who was with me?”
“Next room.”
“Heath.”
*Speak.”
Aurora hesitated, and Heath didn’t press. He sat down at the dining table and began eating his breakfast, his movements graceful and unhurried, nothing like the man who had slamoted the door in anger earlier.
Finally, Aurora mustered the courage to ask, “Did I upset you?”
Heath paused, his hand holding the coffee cup. Upset? What right did he have to be upset? Because Aurora had called out another man’s name while drunk?
No,” Heath said, his voice rigid.
“Oh… Aurora deflated, unsure how to continue.
“Thanks for taking care of me. I’ll be going now,” she said.
Heath didn’t respond, seemingly uninterested in talking to her. Feeling awkward, Aurora returned to her rooms, changed into her own c grabbed her bag,
“I’m leaving,” she repeated.
Again, Heath didn’t say a word or even look up.

She knocked on the door of the next room. Little Fish had already woken up. As soon as Aurora knocked, she opened Aurora, are you alright?”

Kieran walked into Heath’s suite. Heath was still sitting at the dining table. He had taken a few sips of his coffee but hadn’t touched his toast or anything else.
Is the breakfast not to your liking, vir? Kieran asked

“The coffee’s too bitter, the toast too hard, Heath replied.
“Shall I have them make another one?” offered.
“No need.” Heath said, putting down his fork and standing up. “I’m done eating.”
Kieran was puzzled. Heath usually had no issues with this breakfast. What was different today?
“Kieran, look into Aurora Pendleton, Heath instructed.
“What should I look for? Kieran was confused. Did something happen last night?
“Everything. From her birth to now. I want all the details,” Heath said.
“Sir, that’s a lot of work…” Kieran hesitated.
“Three days. If you can’t do it, spend some time in our South African mines,” Heath warned.
“I can
it! I get it done!” Kieran assured him immediately.
While Kieran started digging into o Aurora’s past, Aurora checked her phone and saw a message from Jasper asking when they would act.
She needed a place to house everyone she was bringing over. Right now, she only had the 30 million Heath had transferred to her.
She texted Jasper back: “Give me a day. I’ll arrange a place for us.
Little Fish, sitting in the passenger seat of the cab, asked, “Miss Aurora, are you alright from last night?”
“I’m fine. What could happen?” Aurora replied, not looking up from her phone.
“You drank a lot and couldn’t even walk,” Little Fish said.
“Couldn’t walk? How did I get to the hotel?” Aurora asked.
“Mr. Fairbank carried you. You fell asleep in his car, and he let you rest your head on his lap. He carried you all the way to the hotel,” Little Fish explained.
Aurora was stunned. Heath carried her? Why didn’t she remember any of it
“Did I do anything embarrassing last night?” Aurora asked.
“No, but you did mumble a lot of nonsense. Stuff about shooting and fighting. You really like to boast when you’re drunk,” Little Fish chuckled.
Aurora was horrified. She had almost spilled the beans about being Olivia. She decided she’d better lay off the booze in the future. Otherwise, she might spit! all her secrets before anyone even had to dig.
