In the days that followed, I was busy
graduating and preparing for graduate school.
But every weekend, Yannick would come to
find me.
It happened to be my birthday that day, and
even I had forgotten.
But Yannick appeared in front of me with a
birthday cake and flowers.
But I remembered that I didn’t seem to have
told Yannick?
“What’s going on with you? How do you know
so many things about me?”
Yannick chuckled, “Maybe we’re kindred
spirits.”
Really?
I remained skeptical, but I secretly went to
Yannick’s mom to find out about Yannick.

Yannick’s mom told me that I had actually
met Yannick when I was little.
I was surprised.
When? How didn’t I know?
“Before you were five years old, I took
Yannick to your house. At that time, you
shouted that Yannick was good–looking and
that you wanted to marry him and be his wife
when you grew up!”
My face turned red.
I really didn’t remember this.
When I was five years old, I fell into the water
and developed a high fever. After waking up, I
forgot everything that had happened before I
