Chad was also stunned when he saw me.
He walked towards me quickly, “What are you
doing here?”
Behind him, Chloe tugged at his sleeve,

cautiously speaking to me,
“Starling, I didn’t expect you to follow us
secretly. Don’t blame Chad, Chad originally
said he was going to bring you along… but
you know, my family isn’t well–off, and I’ve
never been to other cities. Chad is kind-
hearted and just wanted to show me the
world.
“I’m sorry, don’t be angry, blame me if you
have to.”
As she said this, Chloe’s eyes reddened.
Exactly the same routine as before.
Chad grabbed my arm, “Since you followed
us secretly, then stay quietly behind me. Don’t
run around. Today’s occasion is very

Chad’s touch made me feel disgusted from
the bottom of my heart.
But now we were at the Ives‘ residence, with
many guests coming and going. I didn’t want
to argue with him, so I shook off his arm.
Chad frowned, “Starling, don’t be difficult.”
I was a little annoyed. I stopped and turned to
look at him.
Just as I was about to say something, I saw
the butler walking over from not far away with
bodyguards.
I was slightly taken aback, “Mr. Peterson…”

The butler said, “Throw these two out.”
The bodyguards were so fast that by the time
I realized what had happened, Chad and
Chloe were already out of sight.
The butler smiled at me,
“Young Madam, feel free to speak up if
anything happens. With us here, we won’t let
you be bullied.”
“Young Master is waiting for you.”
The moment I turned around, I met a pair of
deep, dark eyes.
