The Last Text I Sent My Ex Ch 15

Chapter 15

The conflict was getting more intense. Mr. and Mrs. Reed heard the commotion and rushed downstairs, standing in front of Ivy protectively.

“Don’t touch her. How much money do you want? Name your price.”

“Half of everything you own!”

Mr. Reed’s blood pressure shot through the roof: “Are you out of your damn mind?!”

The man sneered: “Ivy promised us last time that when you kicked the bucket, she’d give us a fat paycheck.

That’s the only reason we stayed away all these years. She told us you were dying from some terminal illness and wouldn’t last long. Said you already wrote your will leaving everything to her! But years went by with nothing happening, so we figured we’d pay a house call.”

“What’s the point of leaving money to some girl? She’ll just get married and it’ll all go to waste. Better to give us half – we’ve got a son at home who’s smart as hell with a bright future. When he makes it big, he won’t

embarrass the Reed name.”

Those familiar words made Ryan’s head spin.

He had a sinking feeling that the truth was about to come out.

Sure enough, Mr. Reed stared at Ivy in disbelief, so angry he was shaking.

“Ivy, this is what you’ve been telling people about me?!”

Ivy shot a guilty look at Ryan first, then grabbed Mr. Reed’s sleeve with tears in her eyes.

“Dad, they made me do it! They kept demanding money from me and I was scared. I never would have said

that otherwise!”

Mrs. Reed sighed: “Don’t yell at her. The poor girl was just frightened.”

The shouting continued, but Ryan couldn’t hear a word of it anymore.

He finally understood everything Ivy had told him was complete bullshit!

It was all gone. Everything

There was no terminal illness, no will, nothing.

He’d been played by these lies for months, and he’d helped Ivy drive away his Stella in the process!

Chapter 15

Thinking about everything he’d done these past few months, Ryan felt sick with regret.

What the fuck had he been doing?!

Ryan’s whole body was tense, hands clenched into fists so tight his knuckles went white, his face darker than

1 storm cloud.

He watched everything unfold with cold eyes, like he was about to explode with rage.

The man was screaming obscenities while Ivy sat on the floor crying her eyes out.

During the chaos, the guy suddenly pulled out a knife from his pocket.

He waved it around wildly, snarling: “No money? Then nobody’s walking away from this!”

The blade caught the light as he swung it around like a maniac.

His eyes were completely unhinged, like he’d totally lost his shit.

vy was terrified, scrambling to hide behind Mr. Reed.

The knife flashed cold and deadly. Then the guy stumbled forward, losing his balance.

n that split second of chaos, the blade went straight toward Ivy!

vy’s face went white with panic. Without thinking, she grabbed Mrs. Reed and yanked her in front of herself

ike a human shield.

The knife plunged deep into Mrs. Reed’s chest. Blood sprayed everywhere.

THUD. The sound of a body hitting the floor.

Everything went dead silent for two seconds.

The man freaked out, stammering: “That… that wasn’t me.”

Mr. Reed’s eyes went wide with rage: “Ivy, what the fuck?!”

Ryan watched it all go down like he was watching a movie, calmly hitting the call button for 911.

Blood pooled on the floor as Ivy stumbled backward, all the color drained from her face,

“I’m screwed, I’m so screwed.” Ivy was losing it, mumbling to herself. “Everything’s fucked.”

She was shaking all over, looking at Ryan with desperate, pleading eyes.

Before, whenever she cried, Ryan would drop everything to comfort her no matter how busy he was.
