Chapter 10
The black Maybach parked in front of the farmhouse, and Greg walked inside.
As soon as I pushed open the door, a wave of cold air hit me in the face.
The whole house hadn’t changed much, but he felt like something was missing.
Greg furrowed his brow, he opened the drawer, and all of Liora’s documents were missing.
On the balcony, the tomato plant she had carefully tended to was also
gone.
Other than that, everything else was there.
Greg always felt empty in his heart.
He walked to the study, remembering the day when Liora said she would prepare a surprise for him at the wedding, and she said she would use his
computer.
It seems that Liora had known all along that she was deliberately getting close to her.
Greg looked at the secretary with a hint of anticipation and asked, “Have you found out where Liora is?”
The secretary shook her head and said cautiously, “Not yet.”
Greg lowered his head, opened a bottle of wine, took a gulp, and his gaze
fell on the sofa.
The sofa cover above was sewn by Liora herself.
When they had just moved into the farmhouse, he saw Liora sewing a sofa cover and asked her why she didn’t buy one.
Liora tilted her head, smiled at him, and revealed two adorable dimples at the corners of her mouth.
“This sofa is a bit old. It would be more comfortable to sew a sofa cover to sit on. Buying one online would cost money, so I’ll sew one to save some money. We can pay off our debts earlier.
At that time. Liora looked into his eyes, filled with love.
Later, she followed her and ate at the roadside stalls every day. In order to avoid revealing her identity, she only gave her bracelets and necklaces
worth a dozen dollars.

She not only did not dislike it, but instead got a delicate little wooden box to collect the jewelry, smiling and saying, “I like everything you give me.”
Later on, Talia woke up and Liora was frequently injured and hospitalized.
When I went to visit her, she looked at me with eyes that occasionally revealed a sad expression.
Greg looked at his secretary, his thick eyebrows furrowing tighter and tighter. “Liora will come back, right?”
“She used to always feel sorry for me working overtime. She loved me so much, she definitely wouldn’t want to leave me.”
The secretary hesitated for a few seconds, several times wanting to speak

but stopping herself, not daring to continue.
Greg’s eyes darkened as he looked at the chat box, but Liora still hadn’t replied to him.
Suddenly, he lost his confidence.
“She must have been angry with me, that’s why she ignored me.”
“If I saw her, I would apologize to her. I really didn’t know she was the victim, and I made a mistake by allowing Talia to hurt her. Will she forgive me?”
The secretary hesitated for a few seconds before tentatively saying, “Mr. Alston, what women fear most is to give their all to their partner, only to suddenly realize that their partner’s heart is not with them.”
“And your behavior, far more outrageous than this.
One sentence left Greg frozen in place.
His breathing was a bit tight, his voice slightly hoarse: “Go check on Liora’s whereabouts again, I need to see her as soon as possible! The sooner, the better!”
The secretary agreed verbally, but secretly shook her head.
New York, the Collen’s manor.
A black sedan came to a steady stop, and the chauffeur got out to open the door. He bent down to signal for Liora to get out, saying, “Ms. Calden, we have arrived. Madam Collen is waiting for you in the study.”
Liora looked up at the majestic old mansion in front of her.
Chapter 10
It is rumored that the Collen family in New York had a strong foundation. Just by looking at this old mansion, one can see the sophistication.
Soon, Liora pushed open the door to the second–floor study, where Sylvia was bent over, trimming fresh flowers.
Hearing the sound, Sylvia slowly turned her head, and a rare smile appeared on her kind face.
She gestured for Liora to sit down: “Liora, the main reason I asked you to come today is because I need your help with something.”
Liora’s watery eyes drooped slightly as she sat down primly.
It is said that before her, many wealthy families in New York wanted to marry into the Collen family, but they were all rejected by Sylvia one by
one.
She couldn’t quite figure out Sylvia’s attitude towards her now. “Madam Collen, you say.”
Sylvia glanced at Liora’s face for a moment.
She did not interrogate Liora, but instead openly stated the reasons for agreeing to Liora’s marriage to Nathan.
Five years ago, after Nathan accidentally became mute, Sylvia sought countless doctors to treat Nathan, but there was no progress.
The doctor said that Nathan’s condition was a heart disease, not a physical illness.
Feeling helpless, Sylvia went to a chapel in the suburbs of New York to seek advice from a fortune teller.
The pastor in the chapel saw that she was sincere and also noticed that

she had often done good deeds in the past, so he pointed her in the right direction.
The pastor asked Sylvia to propose to Nathan.
If on the day of the Snake year, month, and day, someone contacted her to recommend their younger generation to marry Nathan, the woman
involved in this marriage had a way to get Nathan to speak up.
“Since the pastor said you could make Nathan speak, when you meet Nathan, guide him to speak more.”
Liora furrowed her brows, it seemed that Sylvia was just pretending not to like Nathan in front of others.
However, when she was on her way to New York, she checked on Nathan.
Nathan had a cold expression and a fierce temper, making him not an easy person to approach.
“Madam Collen, I might not have been able to make him speak.”
Sylvia noticed that Liora had some concerns and soothingly patted her hand, “Before you came to New York, I consulted the pastor to match you two. You two are a rare match made in heaven.”
“The pastor said, if you can’t even get Nathan to speak, others will find it even more impossible.”
Sylvia said so, Liora couldn’t refuse.
However, she looked at Sylvia in front of her and delicately made her request: “Madam Collen, I will do my best to help.”
“During this time, I also need to trouble Madam Collen to help me with

something. If Davis’s the Alston family inquires about my whereabouts,
please ask Madam Collen to intercept them.”
