Fannie slammed the table. “Enough! Emily is the daughter–in–law I accept!”
I felt a chill in my heart. “So you’ve faked being sick all these years just to keep me stuck inside this villa, while you planned to hand everything over to Emily?”
Emily gently rocked the baby in her arms and said arrogantly, “Security, get this woman out. I don’t want her around anymore.”
The rich young man, who had mocked me before, smirked. “Mrs. Peterson, why bother? Let me teach her a lesson.”
Another chimed in, “I’ve heard Kenneth is good at handling women. Let’s see him in action.”
“Yeah, Mr. Peterson got slapped–he needs to let out some steam.”
I started shaking and stepped back, but someone blocked me from behind.

just stood there watching as my clothes were ripped.
“Let me go! This is illegal!” I shouted.

Kenneth slapped me. “We’re doing the world a favor! You love stealing men, right? Well, there are plenty to choose from. You should be happy!”
As soon as he said that, I felt hands grabbing at me from all directions.
To protect myself, I yelled, “My dad is the chairman of Gordelith Group! If you touch me, he’ll make you pay!”
Instead of scaring them, it made them even worse.
“Please, at least come up with a believable lie. Everyone knows Gordelith Group only has an heir. Where did their heiress come from?”
Hugo stepped forward. “Madeline, stop making things up. Are you insane?”
Emily came toward me, ready to strike. I gathered all my strength and hit her first.
