Chapter 6
Everyone froze in shock. A moment later, the woman who had shoved me burst out laughing. “Madeline, you’re doomed now. I’m engaged to Mr. Schultz. The Gordelith Group never had a daughter!”
At her words, the crowd visibly relaxed.
She even walked up to Wyatt with a smile. “Mr. Schultz, not only did this woman pretend to be Mrs. Peterson, she also claimed to be the Gordelith Group’s heiress. It’s ridiculous. I’ve asked someone to teach her a lesson to protect the company’s reputation. Shouldn’t you reward me?”
Wyatt’s expression had gradually darkened, but that woman didn’t seem to notice. She kept smiling, her head slightly tilted.
“Oh? What kind of reward are you after?”
“I don’t care about fancy things. I just want her.. I’m close to Mrs. Peterson, and I won’t let anyone mess with her. I’ll send this woman to the club. Since she enjoys stealing men, let her be with thousands!”
Wyatt laughed. “Great idea!”
While Emily and that woman exchanged smug glances, he instructed his men coldly, “Take her to the club.”
That woman panicked. “It’s not me! I meant that wicked woman! You’ve made a mistake!”
“Who are you calling wicked?”
“I meant Madeline! Please let me go, Mr. Schultz!”

Gordon, who rarely showed emotion, stepped forward with tears and helped me up.
“Maddic, I came too late. You’ve gone through so much.”
He turned to Hugo with fury. “My daughter gave you five years of her life. She took care of your household affairs and looked after your sick mother. Now that you’ve just been made vice CEO, you turn your back on her and torture her like this? I won’t let you off that easily!”
No one expected that I was truly the Gordelith Group’s heiress. Hugo was
also shocked.
I slowly walked toward him, wiping the blood from my mouth. “Hugo, you’re selfish and hypocritical. You made me stay at home to care for your mom while you and she were scheming behind my back. You even had a baby with another woman. You lured me out today just so Emily could replace me. You did all of this to hide who you really are–cold and ungrateful–so it wouldn’t affect your future. I won’t let you succeed. I want a divorce!”
Hugo instinctively called out, “Maddie…”
The woman who shoved me earlier snapped and shouted at Emily, “I trusted you as a friend, and you used me? Emily, I won’t forgive you! Mr. Schultz, I didn’t mean it. Please let me go…”
Wyatt gave his men a signal, clearly annoyed.
“You can’t do this! My dad won’t stand for it!” she cried.
“So what?” he replied flatly.
Gordon said sternly, “When you hurt my daughter, you didn’t care what her father would think. Now, it’s your turn to face the consequences. None of you will get away with this!”
