The Marriage that was Never Real Novel 20

Chapter 20

Braeden never expected that while he had been searching for her abroad for five years, Angela had been in the country all along, together with

Shane

Braeden rushed back to Los Angeles by plane, arriving the next day

He went straight to the Xandros Group and barged into the CEO’s office

To his surprise, the first person he saw was Angela

His eyes reddened instantly, and he rushed over, pulling Angela tightly into his arms

His whole body was trembling

Angela, Angela, I finally found you.”

Angela knew that Braeden had been searching for her all over the world these past years

With the wedding now public, Angela had already anticipated that Braeden would return

Braeden, this is my husband’s office.”

Braeden’s body stiffened. He said angrily, No, I won’t agree to you marrying anyone else. You can only be mine. I’ve been looking for you for so, so long.”

Braeden, I only stayed abroad for one year. The other four years, I was in Los Angeles.”

Chapter 20

Angela looked at Braeden with coldness in her eyes

She spoke calmly

Braeden said excitedly, It doesn’t matter. From now on, I’ll always be with you. We’ll be together forever. I know you’re angry with me, but Angela, we’ve been together for a full twentyseven years.”

Waketwers

Angela looked at the despondent Braeden. Compared to the spirited man he was five years ago, he was truly a different person

Angela didn’t know whether it was losing the Hernandez Group that had changed Braeden, or losing her

Angela took out a card and handed it to Braeden

In these five years, I’ve come to understand something, Braeden. This is five billion dollarsthe money from selling my shares in the Hernandez Group back then. I’m returning it to you. Now we’re even.”

Braeden’s face turned deathly pale

Angela, I’m begging you, marry me again.”

But what Braeden received was a marriage certificate

On it, the names Angela and Shane were written clearly

Braeden coughed up blood, his reddened eyes staring at the very real marriage certificate

Angela, I swear I didn’t mean it. I love you. I never imagined it was you who had been saving me all along.”

Five years later, facing Braeden again, Angela was much calmer than she had imagined

Chapter 20

Being with Shane was something her parents approved of. Their

relationship was natural and easynot full of passionate declarations, but it gave Angela an unparalleled sense of peace

Perhaps it was because Braeden had exhausted all her love

Angela’s hand brushed Braeden’s temples, where a few strands of white hair had already appeared

Braeden, I won’t save you anymore. Take care of yourself. And don’t look for me again. Shane and I will spend the rest of our lives together.”

Angela let go of him and looked at Shane, who was standing at the door

She walked toward Shane

Braeden watched as Angela was embraced by Shane

His rose had finally entered another man’s city

His mind was filled with memories of freshman year, when Shane wrote Angela a love letter and Braeden found it. He had sought Shane out and given him a thorough beating

But Shane had only sneered, Braeden, I’ll keep writing love letters to Angela. Unless you two get married, I have every right to pursue her.”

And every time Braeden saw a love letter, he would fight Shane again

It wasn’t until after graduation, when he married Angela and Shane went abroad

Braeden’s eyes were red, his voice hoarse beyond measure: Angela, I won’t give up on you.”

Braeden did not take the card

Doschers

Angela wore a snowwhite wedding dress, while Shane was dressed in a black suit

The high society of Los Angeles had all attended Angela and Braeden’s wedding before

But this time, as Angela married again, the groom was someone else

As the wedding began, the screen displayed 999 love letters

All the guests saw that the date on the last love letter was just a year ago

Angela, you finally accepted my proposal! I’m so happy you’re marrying me. I will give you the most perfect love.”

Time began to rewind, and the guests saw the very first letter, dated seventeen years ago

The guests were all astonished

It turned out to be a secret love that had lasted seventeen years
