The two maids were panicking. They had only dared to touch Claudia’s things because the previous wives were always ignored, and Raine held favor with Madam White. Siding with Raine had seemed like the safer bet. But now?
Wasn’t Mr. Nero always hands–off with these things?
Their excuses sounded pathetic.
Nero didn’t even glance at them. He simply turned his head slightly and said to
Simon replied immediately, “Yes, sir.”
The two maids were filled with regret. It was over.
mon, Tell Wendy to deal with them.
Claudia felt a rush of sweetness in her chest. She quickly stepped in front of Simon to push Nero’s wheelchair herself, asking cheerfully, “Where did you go just now?”
Before Nero could reply, Belle interrupted coldly, “Mr. Nero’s business is confidential. Ma’am, you really shouldn’t ask.”
Clearly, he hadn’t forgotten his grudge about Raine.
Claudia rolled her eyes. “Oh? You do know I’m the madam? Then why are you interrupting when I’m talking to Mr. Nero?”
“You-
“Enough,” Nero’s cool voice cur in, sharp with warning.
Belle immediately fell silent.
Claudia gave a satisfied little huff and lifted her chin proudly, like a victorious queen.
Belle’s face darkened.
Claudia ignored him. She turned back to Nero, gently trying to probe where he’d been.
But Nero didn’t answer. Instead, he said, “Co do your own thing. Let Simon take over. I need to handle something in the study.
Hi tone was patient, even warm, but clearly left no room for argument.
Simon moved to take over the wheelchair. Claudia stepped back, a little disappointed. He still didn’t trust her enough.
She didn’t dare ask again. He was too sharp. If he thought she had hidden intentions, it’d backfire.
Fine. It was still early. The person who’d betray him and ruin his leg hadn’t shown up yet. She still had time.
Just as Nero approached the elevator, Claudia hurried after him.
Honey-”
The wheelchair stopped. Nero turned back. “What is it?”
“Can we have dinner together tonight?” she asked, her voice soft with a little hint of pleading
She didn’t want to eat alone again. She wanted to be with him.
He looked at her quietly for a moment. Then he said, “Okay.”
“No backing out!” she grinned.
His cold, severe features softened slightly. “I won’t.”

As the elevator doors closed, Claudia bounded upstairs with a spring in her step.

With Nero’s instructions in place, her room had been restored. When she reached the hall, she saw Raine carrying her things with a sour expression, walking toward the guest room.
The moment she saw Claudia, she sneered and approached, ready to speak.
But Claudia spoke first, calm and cool: “I suggest you think carefully before you open your mouth. If you make me unhappy. as Mr. Nero’s wife, I might just have the authority to throw a maid’s daughter out of here. Don’t you think?”
Raine choked. “You-!”
“What? Step aside, you’re in my way. Didn’t Wendy ever teach you to read the room?
Raine looked like she was about to explode.
Claudia didn’t care. She walked into her room.
But then-
“You really think Mr. Nero cares about you?” Raine’s voice came sharp and mean. “I can’t wait to see what happens to you. Will it be a psych ward that takes you, or an ambulance?”
Claudia’s eyes narrowed instantly.
Raine, thinking she’d struck a nerve, quickly turned and fled.
Claudia stood in place, thoughtful.
Nero’s last three wives–one died, one went insane, one didn’t even make it through the front door.
Both in this life and the last
And she still didn’t know what really happened to them..
Everyone said Nero was crazy. That he’d ruined them.
But she didn’t believe i
Nero wasn’t that kind of man.
She thought of the truth she’d learned before her death, and her chest filled with tight emotion.
Opening her suitcase, she began unpacking the items she’d brought back from the Cloud house. At the bottom was a locked case. She entered the password and opened it.
Inside was the notebook
Not just any notebook–this one held many rare, ancient medical formulas. That’s why so many people had tried to steal it. Her mother had left two copies–one for Claudia, and one with her grandfather’s family, along with her other assets. But in her last life, Claudia never got any of them.
She flipped through the pages, pausing when one formula caught her eye–and reminded her of someone.
Her old teacher.
He had a child late in life, his pride and joy, but the boy was sickly. Despite being a genius in medicine, her teacher couldn’t save him. It broke him. Destroyed him.
The formula in her mother’s notebook could’ve helped. But by the time they realized, the child had already died.
That was his greatest regret
And at that moment, Claudia felt deeply grateful for her second chance.

She snapped a picture of the formula–then paused.
She didn’t have her teacher’s contact info anymore.
They’d met through a medical forum in the past.
Maybe his account was still active!
Her eyes lit up.
She quickly registered a new account and searched for him.
Found him.
She was just about to send the photo when she stopped again.
Wouldn’t it be suspicious to randomly receive the perfect cure from a stranger?
So she snapped two more formulas, then sent them together, pretending to be a student asking for advice.

Her teacher’s username–Jayden–was still well known. He got questions all the time. She wouldn’t stand out this way.
Just as she was about to go take a shower, her phone buzzed wildly.
Jayden: Where did you get these formulas?”
Jayden:“Can we meet in person?”
Across town, Jayden clutched his phone, ignoring his wife’s calls for dinner, eyes fixed on the screen.
His wife asked in confusion, “Jayden, what’s going on?”
There’s hope… Xavier can be saved!” he said, trembling, “Cancel everything. We don’t need to prepare anymore!”
Her eyes widened, voice shaking. “Really…?”
They had quietly begun preparing for their son’s funeral. And now her husband was saying… there was a chance? Back in Blossom Park, Claudia stared at the message and thought it through.
She declined the meeting-
She still had too much to do.
But one day soon, she would return to him–not as a stranger, but as his student.
And this time, she’d save the people no one else could.
