Chapter 3 What Did She Just Call Mr Nero?!
Yvonne’s gaze flickered.
Unlike her foolish little sister, she had done her homework on Mr. Nero–most of it coming straight from Chase.

One look at Claudia wrapped in a bathrobe, another at the servants‘ stiff expressions, and Yvonne instantly figured it out.
Feigning innocence, she asked, “Claudia, whose clothes are you wearing?”
Claudia froze. Seeing the looks on everyone’s faces, realization hit her.
In her last life, Nero had spoiled her too much. There hadn’t been a single place in Blossom Park she wasn’t welcome–not even his bedroom.
So when the maid led her there just now, she hadn’t thought twice.
But she forgot this wasn’t her past life. She had just arrived at Blossom Park, and she barely knew Nero.
And Nero was notoriously territorial. Even the cleaning of his room was handled solely by Wendy!
Her nerves tensed, but she forced herself to appear calm as she walked down the stairs and stood in front of him.
“Honey, I forgot to bring clothes when I showered, so I borrowed yours. Is that okay?”
Simon was speechless.
What did she just call Mr. Nero? Was there something wrong with his ears?
The room fell into dead silence.
Her soft voice, almost teasing, brushed against the heart like a feather. Nero’s long fingers, which had been idly tapping the armrest, suddenly stilled..
He looked at her intently but didn’t say a word.
Yvonne scoffed inwardly.
Pathetic. As if Mr. Nero, of all people, would fall for something like that-
“Yes,”
The deep, magnetic voice cut through the silence.
Everyone turned in shock.
Claudia’s heart relaxed. Her lips curled gently. “Thank you, honey.”
Even as joy bloomed in her chest, guilt followed close behind.
It was only the first day, and he was already treating her so tenderly. Did that mean… she truly was special to him?
But in her past life, after all his kindness, she had let herself believe baseless rumors, feared him, and hurt him the most.
Suddenly, she sensed Yvonne’s burning gaze of jealousy.
Her expression turned cold as she looked over. “Yvonne, what are you doing here?”
Yvonne quickly forced a smile. “I was just worried about you, so I came to check in…”
“Really?” Claudia tilted her head. “Funny, I thought I just heard you say you wanted to take my place!”
Yvonne stiffened. She glanced nervously at the man in the wheelchair before pulling Claudia aside, lowering her voice in a show of sisterly urgency.

“Claudia, what’s wrong with you? Didn’t I tell you I’d handle the aftermath? Why’d you come back?”

“Mr. Chase is still waiting for you. Are you really going to throw him away? We’ll ask Mr. Nero to let you go–I’ll take your place. We’re sisters, after all. How could I just stand by and watch you walk into the fire?”
Claudia nearly laughed.
Back then, she had fallen for these same words. She had believed them, been touched by them.
And within a day of eloping, she was dragged back by her family–tied up and dumped in front of Nero.
Meanwhile, Yvonne had recommended herself to Nero. She hadn’t become the wife of the White family, but she did earn Madam Cheryl’s favor and plenty of benefits.
“Claudia, why aren’t you saying anything?”
After all that talk, Claudia’s silence was making Yvonne nervous.
Claudia hid the coldness in her eyes and said lightly. There’s no need. You should leave.”
“What?” Yvonne was stunned. “You’re really going to abandon Mr. Chase? You-”
“How is it abandonment if we were never together?” Claudia cut in. “On the contrary, I’ve had a marriage agreement with Mr. Nero since we were young. Marrying him is exactly what I should be doing.”
In her past life, raised by a stepmother who kept her ignorant, she hadn’t seen Chase for what he was a schemer who approached her with ulterior motives
He never made their relationship official, and she thought it was out of hardship or pain. What a joke.
Yvonne was dumbfounded.
Didn’t Claudia love Chase to death? What the hell is going on?!
She was about to argue when Claudia looked at her suspiciously. “Didn’t you say my happiness was what mattered most? Well, I’m happiest marrying Mr. Nero. Why are you trying to convince me to run away?”
Yvonne faltered. “I–I just thought you liked Chase…”
“Who said I liked him? Compared to Mr. Nero? Please. He’s the one who chased me. I just felt too awkward to turn him down,” Claudia said, curling her lip in annoyance.
Yvonne: “…You think Mr. Chase isn’t good enough for you?”
Claudia laughed coldly.
The name Mr. Chase held weight. He was from the White family. Just hearing him calling Nero “Uncle Nero” earned flattery and respect. But the truth?
Chase’s father was nothing more than an illegitimate son of the White family–unacknowledged and disgraceful.
That kind of background only earned reverence in a place like Hudsonville, far removed from Capital.
“He’s good enough for me?” Claudia scoffed.
Sure, the Cloud family had declined after her mother passed, but it wasn’t like she’d fallen so low as to marry a bastard’s son.
Yvonne was speechless.
As she walked out of Blossom Park, Yvonne was filled with doubt.
Since when was Claudia so hard to manipulate?
With Yvonne gone, Claudia’s next worry was Nero. She feared he might believe Yvonne’s words and start to doubt her.

Just as she was about to explain, Wendy’s sharp voice cut in. “Ma’am, did you enter Mr. Nero’s room?”
Claudia froze.
Nero had let the robe thing slide–but intruding on his personal space without asking? That was a serious offense.
She blinked and put on her sweetest expression. “I only went in to take a shower.
“Why on Earth would you go to Mr. Nero’s room just to bathe?” Wendy frowned, her voice sharp.
Claudia looked at her calmly. “Because my room didn’t have hot water. Not sure what went wrong”
“Wendy?” Nero opened his eyes, calm but commanding. It was clear–he was asking Wendy for an explanation.

Wendy’s expression shifted. The previous wives had all been subjected to minor harassment, and Mr. Nero never cared. But now he was speaking up?
“I’ll have someone check the system. Must’ve been my oversight,” she said quickly. Still, she wasn’t ready to let Claudia off. “Even if that room lacked hot water, there are plenty of others. Why go into Mr. Nero’s room specifically?”
“Someone brought me there,” Claudia said, her eyes sliding over to the nearby maid.
She had just been reborn–not everything had clicked yet. But anyone working at Blossom Park should’ve known Nero’s. rules. Especially Mandy.
Not to mention, she’d never brought her the clean clothes she asked for, forcing her to open Nero’s wardrobe.
That wasn’t an accident.
Mandy turned pale, tears welling up before she dropped to her knees with a thud.
“Mr. Nero! I didn’t! I told Madam to use the guest room next door–I don’t know how she ended up in yours!”
Wendy stepped in. “Mr. Nero, Mandy’s always been an honest girl. She wouldn’t lie.”
Hearing Wendy defending Mandy, Claudia knew the maid wasn’t getting punished today. Wendy had too much sway with
Nero.
So she didn’t press further. Instead, she looked directly at the striking man across from her, a trace of grievance in her tone.
“I’m your wife now. I’m not even allowed in your room?”
