Chapter 8
I was instantly furious that my three months of hard work was all credited to Sophie.
The internet was flooded with praise for Sophie: [Although Sophie is the fake heiress, she was raised by old money with elite education. This kind of achievement being attributed to some bottom–feeder nouveau riche Megan Shaw? Give me a break]
[Ms. Shaw thinks she can compete with someone raised by an old money family? Hilarious]
[How does she dare claim such massive overseas success? Many big shots can’t achieve results like this!]
I didn’t need to guess who was fanning the flames behind the scenes.
Too many people still had rose–colored glasses about old money families, especially fake old money like the Sullivans.
That night, I sent several dozen gigabytes of audio files back home, documenting everything: my acknowledgment by the family, my parents’s promises about future shares, their mockery of my overseas failures, and countless other damning details.
They were stunned. “How could you secretly record our private conversations! We never knew you were so scheming!”
I laughed. “If I wasn’t scheming, how would I fight for my piece of the pie from you guys? Aren’t you the ones spreading rumors that Sophie was behind all the achievements? Let’s see if the public still stands by your crying little princess after they see what she’s really like!”
Chloe sighed. “Megan, we’re all family. How can you be so heartless! She’s your sister!”
“My name is Shaw, hers is Sullivan. How is she my sister?”
They were speechless, suddenly realizing they hadn’t even changed my surname back.
“If you don’t transfer her back, fine. Plenty of companies want me. Since you don’t acknowledge me anyway, I’ll just hand the company over to Sophie.”
“No!” Edward gritted his teeth.
Though they looked down on me, my abilities were undeniable.
Letting me go to other companies would only hurt them.
“Fine… we’ll bring Sophie back. Are you satisfied?!”
“Transfer the overseas company to my name, separate from the Sullivans. Make it purely Shaw Corp.”
“You’re going too far!” Edward was furious. “Don’t forget you’re a Sullivan!”
“Great, then I’ll release the videos of you favoring Sophie and see who thinks I’m a Sullivan.”
“You…”
I smiled. “If you agree, I can be your competitor. If you don’t, I’ll take my team and leave this mess for your precious daughter!”
