The Revenge 25

Chapter 25

Considering that Charles would come upstairs soon, Camilla, though reluctant, restrained herself and let go of Lucius’s hand

Before she left, she took one last look at Cecilia on the bed. She was still hiding under the covers, unwilling to show her face or even look at her

Camilla’s eyes dimmed, and her throat felt dry. She said nothing and turned to leave

It wasn’t until she heard the door close that Cecilia poked her head out from under the covers. Her face was scrunched up in displeasure. She had heard everything Camilla had said

Although Lucius always told her that Camilla was their mother, Cecilia only liked Ophelia

Cecilia had thought Camilla would never wake up. Now that Camilla had woken up and said she would never leave and stay at home, Ophelia would no longer be able to come over and play with Cecilia like before

As long as Camilla was at home, Ophelia could never openly be Cecilia’s mother

The more Cecilia thought about it, the more agitated she became. She tossed and turned on the bed, feeling utterly annoyed. She grumpily buried herself back under the covers, ignoring Lucius as he patted her through the blanket

Cecilia, let’s talk,Lucius said

Cecilia, I don’t want to talk to you right now,Cecilia replied

Cecilia knew what Lucius wanted to say. Lucius has been bought off by that bad woman. He’s definitely going to try to convince me to accept Camilla. Hmph, I’ll never betray Mommy Ophelia, she thought to herself

In the master bedroom, Camilla was standing on the balcony, letting the breeze clear her mind

During the five years Camilla had been absent, the children, especially Cecilia, had grown accustomed to relying on Ophelia. It wasn’t realistic to expect to remove Ophelia from their hearts in a short time. Camilla needed to take it step by step and slowly get closer to them

The next morning, Camilla woke up early and insisted on accompanying Charles to drop the children off at school

The two kids were seated in their safety seats in the back row. Lucius, who was very bright and had been receiving bilingual education since he was little, had developed the habit of listening to the Oliahrish radio

every morning. Charles was very strict with his demands and upbringing of Lucius

However, he was much more indulgent and pampering toward Cecilia, treating her like a delicate little princess

At that moment, Cecilia was holding her phone, skillfully tapping on the screen, clearly sending messages to someone. She would occasionally smirk and look extremely pleased with herself

Camilla, through her sunglasses, observed this scene in the rearview mirror and guessed that Cecilia was probably contacting Ophelia

Camilla felt a pang of disappointment. Throughout the ride, she had been

trying every possible way to strike up conversations with the children, showing concern for their school life and preferences

Only Lucius would respond to her with a few words. Cecilia, on the other hand, was unwilling to engage with Camilla. Even when she had to reply, she would just nod, giving Camilla no chance to continue the

conversation

As they approached the school entrance, Cecilia put down her phone, reached out, and clung to Charles’s seat, leaning in and acting coquettish. Daddy, can you stop the car here? I’m a bit tired from sitting in the car and would like to walk to school.”

After she said this, Cecilia’s eyes flickered with guilt as she quickly glanced at Camilla in the passenger seat

Cecilia had lied; she wasn’t tired from sitting in the car at all. She was just worried that when the car arrived at the school entrance, Camilla would get out to see her off

With so many other children and teachers around, everyone would know that her mother was blind, which would be extremely embarrassing
