Chapter 12
Austin slumped back onto the sofa, his eyes filled with confusion. But for some reason, it was also at that moment that he suddenly remembered the day when Alyssa first started acting strangely.
With red eyes, she looked up at him and asked, “Austin, do you remember what I said on our wedding day?”
“Do you not remember? I said that you opened my heart with the most passionate love. If one day you no longer love me, just tell me clearly, I won’t cling to you. But if you deceive me, I will disappear forever, so you will never find me again.”
Originally, from that time on, had she already realized, had she already been preparing to leave?
Originally, everything she said was true.
But he has never stopped loving her, he just briefly deviated from his heart. But from beginning to end, she was the only one he loved the most!
“Alyssa, how could you be so heartless…”
ند
He covered his face with both hands, suppressing sobs leaking through his fingers. The servants standing far away watched Austin standing, sitting, raging, and weeping intermittently.
The maid who had been here for a while shook her head. This was the first time she had seen Austin so emotionally expressive, but she dared not say anything. She just dismissed the other servants and left this open space for Austin.
When Austin’s emotions came out of sadness, he silently got up, went out, and got into the car in one go.
Twenty minutes later, the door of Maggie’s apartment was knocked on. She got up somewhat annoyed to answer it, but was startled to see Austin outside the door with bloodshot eyes.
But in an instant, the displeasure on her face was replaced by surprise, and a glimmer of light flashed in her eyes.
“Austin! Didn’t you say you were going to accompany the lady today? Why did you come again?”
Her shy and timid appearance did not evoke his pity. Austin said nothing as he walked past her towards the living room, then threw a thick stack of photos on the table. The random, cold voice was accompanied by a chilling gaze as he looked at her.
“I gave you a chance to explain.”
Maggie was a little puzzled, but as she looked at his expression, she felt a faint unease in her heart. She slowly moved closer to him, and then completely froze when she saw that stack of photos.
She admitted that at the time she sent those photos to Alyssa, she was trying to provoke her, to make her take the initiative to leave. But Maggie never imagined that Alyssa, who seemed so timid and could endure watching them do those things without saying a word, would actually print out those photos!
