Chapter 14
Maggie was unwilling to accept it. What exactly was she lacking compared to Alyssa?
In terms of appearance and figure, she believed she was no less than Alyssa. Even in that aspect, she was more favored by Austin than Alyssa. But why did he still choose to leave her for Alyssa?
She couldn’t figure it out, and Austin didn’t give her much time to think either.
Glancing at the clock hanging on the wall, the clock’s hands were almost pointing to seven. Perhaps there really was a mother–child connection. Maggie touched her belly alone, as if she could feel the child’s unease. She seemed to hear her child calling out to her for help, saying, “Mom, I don’t want to leave you, please save me!”
Maggie raised her hand again to look at the closed door, hesitated for a moment, but still forced herself to stand up, quickly packed a few pieces of clothing, and after collecting all the valuable things in the apartment, she took out a sum of money from the card Austin had given her, and hurriedly took a taxi to the airport.
She didn’t want to stay here waiting to be taken to the hospital by him. She wanted to take their children far away, until she safely gave birth to the child. She wouldn’t come back until Austin couldn’t lay a hand on her child again.
Maggie forgot that Austin could easily track her down.
He guessed what she was going to do when she suddenly took out a large sum of money, so he immediately had someone check Maggie’s spending jrecords. Sure enough, they found out that she had bought a ticket to fly abroad this morning, so he sent someone directly to the airport to intercept her.
On the other side, Maggie was stopped by someone just before boarding the plane.
The initial reason given was that they found prohibited items in her accompanying luggage. She followed them to look for the checked baggage, but as they walked, she suddenly found herself surrounded by a crowd of people. They escorted her out of the airport. She did not want to go with them, but they forcibly pushed her into the car. It wasn’t until she saw the familiar driver and the assistant she had worked with for some time that she realized all of these people were Austin’s people.
And she had already checked in her luggage, which was now being taken out and stuffed into the trunk.
At that moment, Maggie’s heart was filled with nothing but despair.
She just posted a few photos, and he was so heartless, not giving her any way out.
The hospital of Abragal.
Maggie never thought that just a few days ago she was the envy of everyone in this hospital, with a boyfriend who loved and spoiled her, who had rented a whole floor just for her to rest in after only three months of pregnancy. Today, she was brought to the hospital under escort to have an abortion.
She watched as Austin signed his name on the surgery consent form with a blank expression. The nurses then walked towards her, and fear and panic instantly engulfed her heart, causing her to tremble uncontrollably.
“Austin……”
She tugged at his sleeve, tears blurring her vision, her choked voice sounding particularly pitiful. She wanted to beg him to keep this child, but he mercilessly pulled his sleeve away, “Ms. Grant, who gave you the courage to address your superior by name?”
Maggie stood still in place, stunned by the distant attitude and Austin’s words, until she was pulled into the operating room by a nurse, finally realizing
what he meant.
Was he not only giving up on their children, but also trying to cut ties with her?
Realizing what was happening, Maggie immediately began to struggle frantically. The nurse did not expect her to suddenly act out, and for a moment, she really couldn’t control her. In the midst of the chaos, it was the quick–thinking anesthetist who managed to push the sedative in, and after struggling for a while longer, she gradually lost her strength.
