Chapter 5
The panic in Austin’s eyes did not seem fake, but in Alyssa’s eyes, it just seemed funny.
She left, doesn’t that just make room for Maggie? Why did he make such a panicked look again?
But in the end, she still didn’t say these words, just replied calmly, “I saw you were not back for a long time, so I left because it was cold. As for these clothes, it’s time to change seasons, so I sorted them out.”
Upon hearing her say this, Austin’s heart, which had been hanging high, suddenly dropped.
He was like someone who had just passed through a ghost gate, regained what was lost, and hugged her tightly in a panic, “It’s good that you’re not mad at me. It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have answered the phone for so long. I shouldn’t have left you alone there.”
“Please don’t do this kind of cleaning by yourself in the future, okay? I was really scared just now. I thought you were going to leave me, sweetheart. I’m so afraid, please don’t leave me. I will die, I will really die.”
Alyssa did not respond to his words, but she saw the dust marks on his elegant trousers when she lowered her head, apparently he had noticed her absence and was too eager to find her, causing him to stumble when entering the door.

Austin’s behavior always gave her a feeling that he still loved her, but unfortunately, the person he was hanging out with was also him.
“I wasn’t angry, work is important.”

He held her tightly in his arms, afraid that she would disappear if he let go, “Alyssa, if I did something wrong, you can hit me or scold me, just don’t leave
me…”
The choked–up appearance of weakness, if seen by others, would probably make them feel sorry, but she just pushed him away and said, “I’m tired, I
need to rest.”
“Okay, then let’s go to sleep.”
At that time, Austin didn’t dare to argue with Alyssa, naturally, whatever she said was what it was.
He stayed at home with her and didn’t go out until one day he suddenly received a phone call.
Not knowing what was said, his expression instantly became serious.
Since that day, he would secretly think he was hiding and talking on the phone with others behind her back every day, and even sneak out of the house in the middle of the night.
Until that day, a brother in the circle was getting married and planned to have a bachelor party, so he kept urging Austin to come.
Since getting married, Austin has turned down all social engagements, including gatherings with his closest group of friends, in order to spend time with
Alyssa.
He wouldn’t go on weekdays, but seeing Alyssa feeling down recently, he thought about taking her out to cheer her up, so he coaxed and persuaded her to
go out.
Although it was a gathering of brothers, throughout the whole time, Austin’s gaze was always fixed on Alyssa.
He dared not let her drink alcohol, so he ordered all the juices in the club. After tasting each one, he selected the one she liked the most and placed it in front of her.
He was afraid that she wouldn’t enjoy participating in the conversation between these men, sitting alone and bored, so he had a bunch of snacks and binge–watching devices prepared in front of her, even hand–peeled fruits placed within her reach.
She didn’t like the smell of smoke, so he forbade everyone from smoking.
She liked quiet, so he asked people to turn off all the music.

Even when she went to the bathroom, he had to follow closely behind, claiming to be “guarding her safety“, leaving everyone stunned.
