Chapter 6
As Matthew spoke, he stepped forward but was immediately stopped by our mother’s guards.
“Today is Ms. Skye Jimenez’s succession ceremony. You have no right
to cause a scene!”
The guard’s words confirmed my identity to everyone.
Stella turned pale, almost collapsing. Matthew grew anxious when he saw that.
“Mom, can you stop making trouble? Please don’t embarrass Stella.
“If you’re truly worried, take Skye to the hospital. I’ll handle things here.”
One of our mother’s guards slapped Matthew hard, knocking him to the ground.
“You have no right to interfere!” the guard shouted.
Matthew, blood dripping from his mouth, finally understood the situation and became fearful.
“Mom, why don’t we just suspend the ceremony and reschedule it for another day?”
Before he could finish, my mother interrupted him.
“I’ll disown my rebellious son Matthew. Continue the ceremony!”
No one dared to speak after that. Everyone just watched as my mother placed the Blueclaw token in my hand.
“I failed to discipline my son. Sorry for the scene.
“But, I, Queenie, only have one daughter. Skye will be the one to lead Blueclaw in the future.
“The rest is none of your concern. You may leave now.”
The crowd, satisfied with the drama, quietly dispersed.
Soon, only the Jimenez family remained in the hall.
I had lost too much blood and was shaking uncontrollably. Seeing my condition, my mother ordered her men to take Stella and the others away and rushed me to the hospital.
On the way there, I explained everything that had just happened, including the odd behavior of Luke and Naomi.
My mother frowned and immediately sent someone to investigate.
After everything was settled, we both let out a deep sigh of relief.
My mother spoke softly, “If you hadn’t noticed my medicine had been switched, I might never have woken up.”
I nodded, tears welling up in my eyes.
That was true. From the moment I was reborn, I knew something was
wrong.
My mother had always been in good health. The stab wound should’ve been a minor issue, yet she had been bedridden for so long.

Chapter 6
I visited her multiple times, even staying by her side, but I couldn’t wake her up.
Once reborn, I immediately suspected her men, especially Luke.
He had spent the most time with my mother at the hospital.
I sent a message to my mother’s personal bodyguards to stop giving her the infusion as soon as Luke left. Not long after, she woke up.
It turned out that Luke had added tranquilizers to her life–sustaining medicine!
The wedding had been a scheme to destroy my family and take control of Blueclaw’s network!
Soon after, I received all the information about Naomi and Luke.
Naomi had never married.
But she had a beloved crush from her past, someone she had to part with because of her combat training. That person was Luke.
And Luke was actually Stella’s biological brother!
I was stunned when I saw the news.
My mother was nearly fifty, Naomi was about ten years younger, Luke was five years younger than Naomi, and Stella was five years younger
than Luke.
Everything made sense once I added it up.
Though Luke was my mother’s lover, he was also Stella’s brother. Naturally, he would protect her, especially if she had a chance to lead.
Naomi must have felt immense guilt for leaving Luke behind. Now, with him as my mother’s lover, it was probably a constant source of pain for her.
No wonder Naomi, who had always doted on me, had been so cold at
that time.
It all added up. Or else, how could Stella, a mere maid, have the nerve to go against me?
Besides, was my mother’s assassination an accident or a conspiracy?
