Chapter 15
Inside, Eleanor remained unaware she’d been exposed.
But Xander’s earlier glare – fierce and seeming to carry anger left her unsettled and confused.
Had she done something wrong?
Could it be that bringing the divorce certificate made Xander lash out because he couldn’t accept it?
That was all she could think of
Xander’s stunned expression earlier clearly showed he never expected Caitlin to divorce him, just as she’d been shocked seeing the divorce certificate.
She’d thought separating them would take more time, yet Caitlin gave up first–proof her schemes had worked.
Indeed, what woman could endure such betrayal?
A cheating husband who repeatedly hurt her to protect another woman… even the deepest love would eventually shatter.
Caitlin proved that.
At this thought, Eleanor’s lips curved into a smile.
Ecstatic with triumph, she knew concealing the truth would soon make her Mrs. Jackson.

Chapter 15
Just then, Xander walked in, bringing a chill with him, his jawline set in a sharp angle, the veins on his neck bulging like poisonous snakes, pulsing with each suppressed breath.
But Eleanor remained immersed in her joy.
Without noticing the man’s change, she continued to feign innocence and probed, “Xander, Mrs. Jackson actually divorced behind your back. What are you going to do?”
“I won’t divorce her.”
Xander’s answer was unexpected.
Eleanor froze, her nails digging deep into her palms. Beneath her calm expression lay deep resentment.
She immediately retorted, “But it’s already done. She doesn’t love you anymore. Why cling to her? You’d be better off cherishing the one right in front of you.”
That person right in front of him was herself.
Xander curled his lips in a cold sneer, pinching her chin as he murmured: “The one before my eyes… Then tell me how I should cherish her? Shall I marry her as Mrs. Jackson?”
“Can I?”
Eleanor’s eyes instantly lit up.
Just like their first meeting, he’d been fooled by those very eyes – mistaking her for an innocent girl when she was actually a ruthless schemer.
“Of course… not!”

Xander’s gaze turned murderous as he seized her throat.
Eyes blazing crimson, he roared: “You’re nothing but a mistress I keep! Who gave you the audacity to covet Caitlin’s position and repeatedly harm her?!”
Sudden suffocation overwhelmed her.
Xander lifted Eleanor off her feet, her heels dangling helplessly as she thrashed with primal desperation against his iron grip.
Fear, panic, and helplessness.
She wanted to speak but couldn’t utter a word, her breathing growing increasingly labored.
Just as she was about to faint, Xander regained a shred of reason and released his grip.
She collapsed instantly, gasping for air.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face as Eleanor trembled, lifting her head to protest: “Xander, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. How could I ever hurt Mrs. Jackson? You must have misunderstood something?”
Her pitiful demeanor remained unchanged.
Had he not known the truth, he might have been fooled again–just like every time she framed Caitlin. The realization filled him with utter loathing.
Xander crouched down, radiating a demonic aura. He had no intention of wasting his breath on her.
He said with a dark expression: “Since you don’t understand, I’ll help you remember. Then you’ll get it.”
After saying that, he dragged her into the dungeon.
Bottle after bottle, Xander poured wine into Eleanor’s mouth and asked, “How does it taste? Remember now?”
“No, stop.”
Eleanor was dazed from the drinking.
Her throat burned too much to make a sound, and her stomach churned with cramps until she vomited uncontrollably. Only then did Xander stop.
But the next second, a group of thugs burst in.
Seeing their lustful eyes, Eleanor panicked and pleaded, “I remember now, don’t do this to me.
But her pleas came too late.
Xander stood up, wiping his hands as if contaminated by filth, then walked coldly toward the door without sparing her a single glance.
