I looked at him–kneeling in front of me, hands still on my feet–and suddenly felt cold.
Ice cold.
I pulled my feet away slowly and stared at him.
He rushed to explain, “I mean, they’re kinda pitiful, right? Without that letter, they’ll be doing time…”
“And… you’re okay now, right?”
He took out the already–prepared agreement and slid it toward me.

He had broken that man’s arm–because I’d been hurt.
Back then, I thought I was his whole world.

Vivian, who killed my child and stole from me the ability to be a mother.
Arthur Phoenix, you’ve changed.
“I’m not signing it.”
Some simple words–but they took everything I had to say.
He froze for a second. Then his expression darkened.
“I’m just saying–maybe you could show a little mercy.”
“Mercy?” I stared at him, fury bubbling to the surface.

He clenched his fists. Grit his teeth.
Then slowly, he backed down.
