I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

“Blake, you’re not making any sense. I’m not some goddess who can make Chloe suddenly spit blood, am I?”

“When you take her to the hospital, maybe get your own head checked too.”

I clearly saw Chloe on the phone screen, screaming in pain.

She was curled up on the floor, writhing and cursing me incessantly.

As if that would alleviate some of the pain.

Unfortunately, the next second her screams became even more heart-wrenching.

Strange, dense symbols emerged all over her body, and her eyes turned bloodshot.

But Blake just stood there, stunned and helpless.

Clearly, only I could see those runes on her.

“Brother! Quick, grab that woman! I want her dead!”

Chloe snatched the phone, glaring fiercely at the screen. “Skylar, what did you do to me!”

“Why… why do I feel the doll’s pain!”

It worked!

I rejoiced inwardly, but my face feigned ignorance. “Chloe, what are you talking about? I

don’t understand.”

“When your brother takes you to see a doctor, tell him to take you to a psychiatrist too. You two siblings might both have issues!”

Blake even reached out to touch her forehead, worried if she had a fever and was

delirious.

“Chloe, what are you saying? What doll? Don’t talk nonsense.”

Chloe shot me a furious glare and hung up.

Looking at the black screen, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Come on, Chloe.

Let’s see how you’re going to squirm now.

Strangely, for the next few days, neither Blake nor Chloe contacted me.

It was as if they had completely vanished from my life.

Only those posts still hung on the company forum, some even spreading to external sites.

My colleagues were all discussing me, but thankfully, a few good friends stood up for me, and the rumors didn’t escalate further.

My boss also called, urging me to return to work.

“Skylar, we asked you to take a leave before because we were worried about your emotional stability, and the company had to consider the risks, you know.”

“Now that you’ve had time to adjust, please come back soon. The client is still waiting for your report.”

Before entering the company, I took a few deep breaths, then stepped inside.

The office was as usual. Everyone nodded when they saw me, then went back to their tasks.

“Skylar! You’re finally back!”

Brenda rushed over to hug me the moment she saw me, then handed me a stack of files.

“I really couldn’t handle this project of yours. I don’t understand any of this Al model, data analysis stuff.”

Others nodded in agreement, and someone whispered, “Who said she got the collaboration through shady means? Let them try it themselves and they’d see.”

After a few jokes, I quickly settled into work.

Working overtime until midnight, I kneaded my stiff neck, preparing to leave.

I unintentionally glanced at the time, and my heart gave a sharp jolt.

This was the exact moment in my previous life when Blake burned the doll, and I suffocated to death in my dream!

So… time had already come to this point…

I had just muttered to myself when my phone rang.

Caller ID: Blake Davis.

This guy was like a bad penny, always turning up.

I hung up directly and blocked him.

After packing my bag and walking out of the building, I saw a familiar figure standing by

the door.

Hearing my footsteps, he slowly turned around.

Facing my cold expression, he still smiled. “Skylar, why aren’t you answering my calls?”

“I came to pick you up from work.”
