Chapter 9
Sylvie silently stared at the ceiling, saying nothing.
A surge of fire rose in Alaric’s chest inexplicably. Just as he was about to speak, a nurse hurried in: “Mr. Savrelle, Ms. Pritchard is in pain again…”
“You need to reflect on your actions.” Alaric turned and walked away. “Stop causing trouble.”
In the following days, Sylvie was terrifyingly quiet.
Every day, Clarisse sent Alaric photos of her being taken care of, but he remained indifferent.
On the day of discharge, Clarisse came in person.
“Sylvie, you were discharged in just three days,” she waved her bandaged right hand. “Do you know how long I would have to stay if it weren’t for Alaric spending a fortune to bring in an expert from overseas? My hand would have been useless.”
“You deserved it,” Sylvie said coldly.
Clarisse suddenly laughed, “Sylvie, what are you pretending for? You clearly like Alaric so much, but how does it feel to be sent to jail by him? It must be unbearable, right?”
Sylvie finally turned to look at her. “What do you want to say?”
“It’s nothing, I just wanted to tell a little story,” Clarisse sat on the edge of the bed. “You know, Alaric and I were high school classmates. All the girls in school were chasing after him, but he never paid them any
attention.”

She touched the bandage, her eyes flashing with a proud light: “Except
me.”
“He would remember that I drink coffee without sugar, always bring an extra umbrella on rainy days, only accept the water I hand out during student activities, look in my direction during school speeches, make all the girls in school jealous to death, but only smile at me.
“Just as we were about to break through that barrier and be together, I had to go abroad to recover from a car accident in order to save him. However, we have stayed in touch all these years.
Sylvie’s fingertips pinched into the palm.
“Later I told Alaric that my mom had married into a wealthy family, but the wealthy family had a Ms. Sylvie who always bullied her,” Clarisse chuckled, “He immediately called your dad.”
“Do you know what he said? ‘Hand Sylvie over to me for discipline.‘
Sylvie was trembling all over, she had always thought it was her father who had willingly handed her over to be disciplined by Alaric…
“He excelled in everything at school, even in managing people,” Clarisse whispered in her ear. “He casually made you fall for him and then took you to bed.”
“Although I was very angry, I later found out that every time he slept with you, he would copy the surveillance footage…” Clarisse chuckled, “That’s when I understood his intentions.”
“After all, Ms. Sylvie was the proudest. If I had her private video in my hands, who would dare to bully anyone?
“Alaric slept with you, probably just to later give me those surveillance footage, so I could have the power to fight back.”

After Clarisse finished speaking, she looked satisfied at Sylvie’s pale face and left the ward with a smile.
Sylvie was struck as if by lightning, her whole body feeling as if her blood had turned to ice.
She ran out of the hospital like crazy and took a taxi straight to the Savrelle’s villa.
Back at the villa, she went crazy rummaging through the boxes and
cabinets.
The study room drawer was empty.
Bedroom safe – no.

Finally, in the darkroom’s computer, she found the encrypted folder.
The moment she clicked, Sylvie’s legs went weak and she knelt down on the ground.
On the screen, there was a scene of her entwined with Alaric.
From the first time to the last time, clearly and distinctly, categorized and separated.
