“Aria Hayes, are you sure you want to go against me?”
“Don’t you care about your father’s life anymore?”
Blake’s brows furrowed, and he clenched his fists.
1 propped myself up to look at him, the last shred of love in my heart having dissipated.
He had never believed me, and a man capable of running Sterling Enterprises believed such a clumsy setup without question.
In those fifteen seconds he stared at me, all I could think of was leaving.
“Blake Sterling, some things I didn’t do, I simply didn’t do.”

“Believe it or not, I don’t care,”
I finished, then lay back down, turning my back to him.
The bedroom was filled only with Blake’s heavy breathing. After a few minutes,
“Aria Hayes, you don’t need to bother with all this fuss.”

“Miss Hayes, have fun.”
I returned her smile and got into the car.
The airport wasn’t crowded, and check–in was quick. Amidst the general chatter, I occasionally heard people discussing Skylar Vance and Blake Sterling.
Fortunately, I was wearing a mask, so no one recognized me.
“Do you think Skylar will finally marry Blake?”
“Who knows? The original wife used to be from a powerful family too, even though they went bankrupt. She probably still has some tricks up her sleeve.”
“Tsk, tsk, if it were me, I’d just get a divorce, take the money, and let Skylar have him.”
“The original wife’s probably used to being taken care of all these years. She wouldn’t survive without Blake.”
Listening to the two girls chat, I couldn’t help but let out a little scoff.
They both turned to look at me, confusion in their eyes.
